The swiveling light heads are great for this application
It's not exactly going to help you land a plane during a hurricane at night, but this light is bright enough to find your way in a dark area. For the price, and functionality, I do give this product 5 stars. We live in a less-than-complete section of urban sprawl, still relying on farmer co-op electricity. It goes out more frequently than desired, so short of buying a whole house generator (which is on the list) I purchased this for our kitchen. It is very small and compact, and actually sits on top of our kitchen cabinets hidden from view. The swiveling light heads are great for this application, as I have them aimed toward the ceiling. As I said, it doesn't exactly wash the living room in light, but it's enough to find your way around. If you are considering this for home use, I would also recommend getting the plug in night light style emergency lights as they work well to augment something like this. The picture isn't 100% accurate. Mine has a different fresnel lenses that seem to disperse the light in a wider area.

Great streamlined modern looking lights.
When we repainted the hallways in our 11 unit condo building we replaced the bulky old guys with these ones that did a much better job.

Would be a 5 but nearly impossible to open up for servicing, once installed
I LOVE the packaging of this: I tiny little compact rectangular cardboard carton. If you do a lot fo fire alarm /emergency lighting, you could stock tons of these. They ship closed and are very difficult to open even off the wall. Once installed, they are nearly impossible to remove without breaking them or the mounting provision behind them (mine was a wing box, a bit more delicate than a stud-mount box). They could do a bit of engineering and shrink the male prong on the tabs 3% and have an A+ product.
