Awesome - if...
Awesome water bowl, if...Because the water will overflow when the system needs a good cleaning, we put the whole thing in a brand new ‘standard‘ kitty litter tray. So when it overflows, it just fills the kitty litter box. The cats and the dog don’t mind that, they LOVE this thing.Just one thing I’ve noticed is that the jug isn’t refilling the bowl when the water level falls. I have to pick up the bottle, let it pour out some, then replace it. (The pump makes a strange noise when it’s pumping air instead of water - that’s how I know it’s time).I live with two handy fixer-upper guys, so one of them is going to tell me why and then fix that issue (maybe the spike that opens the jug hole is fits the hole too well, not leaving any room for the water to flow when needed). So, it works great! If you make a small adjustment and put the whole works in a clean, new kitty litter box/tray to catch the water when (not if) it overflows.* I’ve had the smaller version for four years and it worked fabulously until something fell on it and broke the bowl. I traded to the bigger version so the dog wouldn’t empty it every time she drank. Hey! I just realized that she doesn’t drink out of the toilet any more. There’s the best recommendation right there. Doggy-approved.

Day One Review - Very Good
The media could not be loaded. - Just received this filtered dog water bowl with reservoir today, set it up, and really like it. The dogs drank out of it within 3 minutes. There are two dogs, one 35lbs, another 60lbs.- Shipping - fast, on time, shifting in transport. During transport the motor moved and the water pump return tube had moved from the hole in the bowl where it was supposed to be located. Easy fix, just move the rubber hose back into position.- Setup - I removed the filter, rinsed it out, and wanted to make sure it was installed correctly (because there are many ways to put in wrong), so I checked out the manufacturers website (photo attached).- Assembly - Almost none. Once the motor and filter were correctly positioned, I rinsed out the reservoir, used it to fill the bowl about halfway, and put the filter/pump cover back on. Then I filled the reservoir back up and put it on the bowl to allow it to fill to the correct level it was supposed to be. Once it was full, I turned on the motor and the rest is history. Seems to work as advertised and I am happy at the moment.- Other - Noise. Yes it makes noise. You can hear it when you walk into the laundry room. Does it bother me, NO. Video attached with my voice, so you can estimate the sound level. I was about three feet away. I think I may put it on a timer for about 12 hours daily, doubling the pump life. They don't drink water at night!!- Other - Filter. I think the filter is pretty weak. I plan on making my own filter with better material and it will certainly be cheaper than their replacements. I do think it will stop most of the junk and keep their bowl clean, but I will just have to disassemble and clean it manually every so often - with all the junk behind it and not really in the filter. A small price to pay.- Other - Design. I was going to make my own until I came across this brand/model. It appears their bowl design is very good. There is a hump in the middle of the bowl and a water current diverter at the 6 o'clock position (looks like a triangle). This helps the debris go through the slots and into the filter area instead of continuing to go around the bowl in a circular motion. I couldn't have made a bowl like this without a total Frankenstein look. Good on them.- Other - Pump. The pump is rated at 140 GPH, and says it is adjustable. Flow is high. I tried to adjust it down with little success - not a big deal to me. I suppose they may have selected this flow rate to ensure debris moves into the filter area. Attached picture has pump data. I only found one distributor of this foreign made pump during a quick internet search.- Other - Update. An update will follow if something changes.

Bought two medium units, both pumps rattle loudly
This review is for the Medium 2.4 gallon K&H CleanFlow Filtered Water Bowl with Reservoir, *not* the excellent extra large and the small versions of the same product. We purchased a medium K&H CleanFlow for our son to use for his puppy at his college apartment in July 2017 and a second medium K&H CleanFlow to replace a different brand water bowl that has always been difficult to clean in October 2018. We like the simple and effect design of the K&H CleanFlow products. Both medium K&H CleanFlow pumps are unacceptably noisy; they rattle loudly and the problem is that the impeller used on the medium pumps is too small for the aperture and cylindrical recessed space in the sealed pump body. The extra-large 3+ gallon K&H CleanFlow we purchased many years ago continues to run perfectly and the pump is nearly silent, even though the permanent magnet on the impeller is deeply scored from years of use. We also purchased a small K&H CleanFlow with Reservoir a few years ago to use in the guest bathroom for our cats and it also runs perfectly and silent.I have used these type of pumps in my 125 gallon and 200 gallon fish tanks for decades, albeit larger versions, and the problem with the medium K&H CleanFlow is most certainly the missized impeller. We'll be returning the medium K&H CleanFlow purchased in October 2018 but unfortunately our son didn't tell us the one purchased in July 2017 rattles, so I'm sourcing a 3rd party replacement pump.

best water fountain
Best fountain I have ever purchased. The replacement filters come 3 in a pack and they are very affordable under $6.00. I highly recommended it. My Dexter does not drink water out of the house, he loves his fountain that much, I keep it clean by washing it thoroughly every 15 days with dawn dishwashing liquid. I feel very confident this is the best fountain out there for the price, it's very affordable. I have never endorsed anything before and I have not received anything for this review. I have just scoured the internet for the best and most affordable fountain for my Dexter. but the replacement filters had to do their job and they had to be affordable as well. This has all that. A little advice sometimes when you clean the pump it takes a few tries to get it working again, it happens, just keep priming it and it will be fine after a few tries.

Keeps water fresh and circulating 24 hours a day, bowl can overflow and cause water leakage.
Edited review: As of June 2015The bowl overflows water and I would not recommend using this on a capeted or wood floor. We have to put this into a rimmed plastic container as the bowl will frequently overflow water. We also have to tilt the unit backwards by putting silicone placemats under the front of it to prevent it from overflowing as much. Based on this, I would not recommend at this time. I still will use it as I like to supply fresh water for my pets.Good product we have 2 bigger dogs and a cat, the bowl holds enough water that the canister only needs to be refilled about once every other day. Filter keeps the water relatively clean, we wash it about once a week or so. Pets like the fresh/circulating water a lot more than stale water in the dog bowl. Pump is relatively quiet as well. Would recommend this product. Slightly wishing I'd purchased the bigger canister with bowl, as we have a 90 pound dog, a 20 pound cat and another growing dog that is over 30 pounds. Judge accordingly by your pet size how much water they need.

Bacteria Cesspool
Good in theory, bacteria cesspool in practice. Water jug is nice because it allows for infrequent refills. However over time the pump gets pretty gross looking with hair and other things getting caught inside. The filter that is included also becomes super gross and probably harbours more bacteria and grossness than it filters out of the water. After a few years of use and monthly cleaning I finally threw it out today after smelling the inside of the water jug, it smelled like a swamp.

Great Product
My Golden retriever has been using this for few weeks now and he really likes it. The water stays fresh and clean constantly. The assembly is very easy and clean up is a breeze. He's been drinking more water than he used too. Size of the container is also great. Not too big not too small.

Great Product
Great product for our 80-pound yellow lab and 15-pound cat. We have now been using this product for about a month. Thought that the reservoir would last the week with a medium size 2.4 gallon, but find I have to fill every four days. Very easy to refill. Like the valve closure, so you don't have water all over when you replace the reservoir. The water is nice and clean and they seem to be drinking a lot more water. Quiet operation. However, when I refilled the reservoir, I noticed an odor. I used baking soda in the water and let it sit for awhile, then refilled with fresh clean water. That seemed to help some. Tried lemon juice and let that sit in the reservoir for a time. That helped as well, but didn't take the plastic smell out completely. Hasn't deterred the dog or cat from drinking. I thought the cat and dog would have needed some adjustment time, but they took to it right away. Now I wished that it cooled the water too, LOL!

awesome product
I love my K&H water bowl, it is large enough to accommodate all of my animals and i don't have to fill it every day. They love the swirling action. And what a great price, i have bought multiple fountains all for much higher cost and this is the best I've found.
