Valtev Pocket Knife, Folding Hunting Style, Bamboo Wood and Stainless Steel Handle, Quality Lockback Blade, Sturdy Nylon Pouch

I love this knife. I bought it to take to Europe on an anniversary trip with my wife. We like to picnic and buy local wine, bread, sausages, and cheeses from whatever region we're in. In the past we've always needed a knife. I wanted something in the nature of a "French Farmer's Knife," so I got this and wasn't disappointed the wood is beautiful the bolsters are very smooth and the shape of the handle fits my hand perfectly. The blade is stainless so resists rust, yet the metal is soft enough to give it a nice edge with just a few strokes on a stone.

For a $20 dollar knife I found this to be much more than I expected. As an avid knife collector I was attracted mainly by its design. I wasn't disappointed when it arrived. Nicely finished, tight blade and lock up. As I said, it is a $20 knife. Don't expect perfection (although mine comes close for the money spent), expect to receive a well made, attractive knife.

It's got a good quality, razor sharp blade. Strong and well made with great ergonomics. And dang, it looks and feels real cool! The curved handle fits the hand well, and provides some additional mechanical advantage for cutting tasks. The shape even allows it to be used as a knuckle backer when closed. The trim nylon pouch it comes with carries easily on a belt and would ride well in a purse or shoulder bag. My one minor criticism is that lacking a clip, it's a little heavy (though not excessively so) for comfortable concealed pocket carry. A lighter version would make an ideal EDC (everyday carry) knife. The blade is sufficiently sharp and strong for heavy cutting and use as an emergency weapon. A good deal at twice the price and a steal at this one!

OK working, open/close smooth, but the metal spacers on the handle stick out beyond the wood and scrape my fingers, or feel like they are going to cut me. Too bad this is a good looking knife that looks OK in my collection but I will never feel comfortable using it.EDIT Valtev read this review and sent me a replacement which did not scrape my fingers, I did not request anything but they made the correction anyway. Very happy with the outcome on this and have purchased a couple more Valtev products, excellent customer service and a good solid product line.

Great knife! I am not one of the mutiple people that have written reviews of this knife because I was given a free sample. I actually paid money and received this item. The knife was well finished and has a unique look and feel. I think the lines of this knife are a unique design and it feels good in the hand and is nice to look at. The knife is a lock blade design and it comes with a well made nylon belt pouch. I know some people do not like pocket clips but I prefer them. I will add one to this and place in my carry rotation. Bottom line. Good price, Fast ship and arrival and worth the money for good looking and well put together knife! I was not given anything for this review and I did not get a sample for testing I paid for this myself. Check the other reviews and you will see why I keep saying it. I might be the only person that actually bought it! Well worth the money!!

The fit on this knife is good. It opens and locks solidly. The finish is not what I would expect for the price; it is to satin and dull. Sharpness is OK; it passes my thumbnail test, but not paper cutting. Overall the knife is OK but nothing about it is exceptional and I think it is a little overpriced.

Came sharp right out of the packaging. I really like the build quality also. The size is great if you want something that will feel like it makes a difference. The handle is ergonomic and the bamboo has a very smooth feel. I've used it for simple things like cutting packaging, Plastic, and slicing fruit and its held up very well so far. I didn't care much for the belt pouch because it fits very well concealed in my pocket.

Very nice handle and balance. Lock works well although there is a slight click when pushing it down to release the blade (actually, the click seems to be going away after 20 or so uses). Not sure how the blade will hold an edge but it comes fairly useable initially. I knocked it down to 4 stars because the nylon sheath it comes with had the belt loop piece sewn down. Never really planned on putting it on my belt but still.
