This is a good shovel
Best folding shovel I've ever owned. This redefines the concept for me. Blade is quite sharp for a shovel, cuts small roots and weeds in trail building and maintenance. Rock dings (glacial till here) are easily pucked out. Locking collar is very secure and easy for older hands; threads are large to prevent binding, but the design insures tightness.Folds down to nothing. Fits in my 5 gal camp tool bucket. If I could change one thing, it'd be to loosen up the handle slide lock, but it may work out with time. Overall, fantastic product for the money. Zero complaints, lots of praise after over a month of hard use.

A great confidence booster in the event of hairy situations
I've worked through a lot of Youtube videos before deciding on this purchase. Turns out the time spent researching was worth it. The SCHSH1 (a clumsy designation in my opinion) is a solid product. It does seem up to the job as an emergency snow shovel, fire pit tool, emergency shelter construction tool and personal defence weapon for my upcoming winter road trip to Iceland. Its construction is tight and moving parts seem durable and stay in place once deployed and locked tight. It doesn't take much twisting to secure the neck screw that secures the shovel head. The blade isn't excessively sharp, which makes it safe to handle while, it seems, still able to accomplish some light chopping and shaving tasks. A great confidence booster in the event of hairy situations. Definitely recommend.

Great little shovel!
I needed a folding shovel for camping, and after some comparative shopping, opted for this one. It came quickly, and when it arrived I was surprised by how solid and sturdy it was. The shovel's edge is sharp, too, so be careful to not mess around with it! I do with she shovel itself was capable of "moving" a bit more soil, but I'm not digging a foxhole here, so it's fine. Thumbs up.

Meet Shovel.
Was a bit difficult to open initially but became easier after several attempts. Simple and effective.

It really feels solid
I am very pleased with it so far. It really feels solid. Winter where I live left very little snow this year. I bought it to put in the trunk just in case I needed it for my vehicle or someone else's. Unfortunately for the reviewing process, I can't review it as much as I had thought I could by now. But fortunately, I didn't need to use it. The locking mechanism to extend the length of the handle is a little stiff, and takes a bit to get it right the first time or two before you get the hang of it. It might loosen up after repeated use. It is really nice and sturdy feeling. The locking mechanism seems very adequate. It might be somewhat difficult to do wearing winter gloves.I may take it on a camping trip just to play with it in the dirt. If it fails, I will post a follow up.

Fits the bill nicely for my bug out pack
A truly amazing shovel. Purchased this for my bug out bag and I am extremely pleased. The folded shovel fits nicely in the provided sheaf and the overall size works well for my pack requirements. I have not yet tested it in the field; however, it appears to be very sturdy.

even though I did not need to take a crap, chopped a fallen
Bought three of these suckers for Christmas presents. I'm giving away only two of 'em. Hey I couldn't resist. I dug a "slit trench" in the backyard, even though I did not need to take a crap, chopped a fallen, half green, tree branch in half, ( about two inches in thickness ) would recommend wearing work gloves (I like Paul Harvey endorsed Wells Lamonts) as the business end, has an edge. Be careful, the superior digging, picking, chopping, functions are all due to the sharpened shovel blade. The push pins and locking rings are solid. Minimal play in the "T" handle portion. I think this thing would also be almost as good as the Russian Spetsnaz E- tool in a tussle.
