KUFA Prawn Trap,Crayfish Trap and Minnow Fish Trap S44

Bought two on our trip to the coastal waters of South Carolina. Simple design and traveled well. Added a bouey and some rope, like most other pods out there. There was a slight gap on one set, but it closes when you pull up the trap. I used a can of chicken in one and a can of cat food in the other. Poked a dozen holes in each worth a nail and through it in there. Caught 1/2 doz of eatable shrimp, an American eel and several bait fish in our first haul. Great trap for something fun to do on vacation near the coast.

It definetly works for what I expected to be in it! Too me a few tries to find a good spot lol the only critique I have is where are the instructions???? I have no idea what the clasp was for, and there was nothing to secure it closed...

This trap does not close properly. The sides without hinges do not close AT ALL. When holding the trap by the clasp (where the line would go to remove the trap from the water) the sides do not make contact with each other. There is enough room for minnows to swim out easily.The unit I received was not made well - and the two pieces are not symmetrical as I expected. Some of the corners and other areas on the trap had the black coating chipped off, and there were places where the trap was deformed, or dented. It was sold as new but obviously used and returned, probably by another reviewer (see the two-star review from October 8, 2015). Sending out (and reselling) a defective/returned unit says something about the manufacturer and distributor, don't you think?EDIT: 10/22/15. Finally opened the box. Same thing again. This one is going back for a refund. Now there are TWO returns you might wind up with. Go ahead, order one!There's no quality control at the manufacturer - it appears two random trap halves were thrown together without checking if they fit. Even the overlapping metal seems were not in the same place on each half. One was in the center of a side, and the other was more towards the end. The two halves look like they were in batches made years apart at different factories. Not surprising they don't fit each other properly.Since I ordered the trap for minnows, I want it to close securely enough to contain them, especially when hauling the trap in. This is when the closing defect is most pronounced. In my opinion, this trap is way overpriced for the quality. I purchased another trap ("Frabill Minnow Trap, 8 x 8 x 18-Inch, Black") in the same order. For a few dollars more, the quality and features are amazing compared to this 'toy'.I wanted to try alternatives to the classic torpedo-shaped traps I've always used. Both of these looked interesting but after owning both, can't recommended this one. Compare both traps for yourself - you can tell from the pictures alone that the Frabill trap is worth the extra few dollars.I'm returning this previously owned JUNK and requesting another unit. I want to know if they're all bad or if I got a clunker. I might append this review and change the rating if the next one works as expected and isn't previously owned. If not, it's going back also, with no update.Since I'm returning it, there's a good chance someone else will receive it (again), Feeling lucky?

This trap is good but the only problems are that there is no place to attach a rope and when the trap moves it makes a gap

Unit shipped fast and looks heavy duty enough. It doesn't fit together tightly leaving a gap in between the two sections. Also the openings for the critters to climb in are in my opinion a little extra large.
