This is a great vacuum and very versatile. I use it in the car for bare floors at home and as a general utility vacuum. Has plenty of suction power and runs for quite a while on the four Milla amp hour battery

The media could not be loaded. This review is for the vacuum combined with the cyclone attachment (sold separately).The vacuum arrived a week early, which was a cool surprise. I put on the cyclone attachment (sold separately) and floor attachment, grabbed a Makita battery, and went to work on some hardwood floors. I was very pleased with how well it picked everything up (mainly cat hair and dust), and how maneuverable it was with the floor attachment on. I will be using this vacuum as my primary/only vacuum and I am confident that it will work well. I'm very happy with the new addition to my Makita arsenal. My only request would be for it to come with additional attachments.Two tips:1) The cyclone attachment is WELL worth it. I'm using a HEPA filter and the cyclone attachment catches 99% of the debris before it ever gets to the HEPA filter.2) With the floor attachment on, it only picks stuff up moving forward. There is a squeegee like fin underneath that works well to funnel debris into the vacuum opening when moving forward but block debris off from the vacuum opening when moving backwards.Conclusion: If you already have Makita stuff, I recommend this vacuum.

I realized lithium batteries are not allowed to fly, so you need to purchase one at your locality. The one quoted in the manual is quite heavy for the cleaner body.

Works very well. Somewhat expensive compared to other units available. I like that the vacuum can be converted easily to a hand held unit

We have a houseful of dogs and cats. This awesome little vac never gets clogged with pet hair like you do with vacs with brushes. It’s also narrow enough to vac deep under couch. Light weight and doesn’t make your arm burn having to hold it up. Very well made!

I bought this vacuum because I have several Makita batteries and have had nothing but good experiences with Makita tools, both workshop and outdoor equipment. While this vacuum has pretty good suction, the design of the head at the bottom of the tube does not do a good job of directing the debris into the air flow. While the unit is light, it does not feel very sturdy with a noticeable wobble in the long tube. I bought it with the optional cyclone dust collector, a must, but found that if I mount it on the front, the built in light does not reach the floor. If mount it on the back, I can no longer use the included wall mount. Just not well thought out. The cyclone should have been built into the design rather than as an optional accessory, especially at this price. Mediocre engineering, mediocre performance. It does not do credit to the Makita name.

Tired of Dustbusters crapping out midway through a short job. This sucker is literally that... is works well over long periods on a high capacity lithium battery. Investment makes sense if you already have many other Makita tools that are compatible with this class (5Ah, 18V Li ion source). It's expensive compared to a Dustbuster, but you're not going to be swearing that the juice is gone early in your job. The cyclone attachment is really cool because it keeps the cloth bag debris-free. but it is a kinda awkward if you're not using the long extension pole. Speaking of that... what a back-saver compared to the Dustbuster. Recommended... Makita quality.

I got the Makita stick vacuum along with the blue plastic side piece and absolutely love it. I've had it a couple months now and have NO disappointments. It hangs on the wall easily removable, easy to remove the blue canister to dump dirt too. I have the better battery and it lasts a long time, recharges fast. This is worth every dime.
