In the riveting conclusion of the 4MK trilogy, Barker takes the thriller to an entirely new level. Don't miss a single word of the series James Patterson called "ingenious." Hear No Evil For Detective Sam Porter, the words "Father, forgive me" conjure memories long forgotten; a past intentionally buried. For Anson Bishop, these three words connect a childhood to the present as he unleashes a truth concealed for decades. See No Evil Found written on cardboard near each body, these words link multiple victims to a single killer - discovered within minutes of each other in both Chicago and South Carolina - clearly connected yet separated by impossible miles. Speak No Evil Chicago Metro and the FBI find themselves caught in chaos - a hospital on lockdown, a rogue officer, and corruption at the highest levels. When Anson Bishop, the prime suspect in the notorious 4MK serial murders turns himself in, he reveals a story completely unexpected, one that not only upends the current investigation, but one that will change the lives of all involved. Do No Evil With unrelenting tension and pulse-pounding suspense, the past unravels at breakneck speed as the truth behind the Four Monkey Killer's motive is finally revealed in this masterfully crafted finale. Review: What a finale, the best crime thriller series I've read! - The Sixth Wicked Child (4MK Thriller, #3) by JD Barker 5 stars!! "Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me." I had deliberately not started this one until I knew I would be able to devour it in one sitting. After the first two books in this series, I knew that this would be one of those of reads and I am so glad I did. This is a long book, however, the pace was fast, punch, after punch. I would hate to be inside the mind of JD Barker, how he came up with this plot and remembered it, is beyond comprehension. Every wall in his house must have been covered in post-it notes and charts to even remotely keep track. However, that plotting, bore fruit, a bountiful harvest of crime thriller addictiveness that I couldn't put down, in fact, I'm running on only a few hours sleep. "Father, forgive me." This was a conclusion I never saw coming, and that ending. OMG!! The ending!! I can see why we had to wait a year, but hell, I would have waited longer for this gem. My jaw dropped on so many occasions as the twists kept coming. I usually have a fairly decent grasp on where things are going, but JD Barker totally hood-winked me throughout this book. But what a conclusion!! JD Barker delivers the perfect conclusion, all threads tied up, new ones started, but all threads created one stunning crime thriller that I will never forget. This is one of those series I could read time and time again and never get bored. I'm sure I would find other little nuances that I missed in my haste to read this final installment. The temptation for the first time EVER to skip to the end was REAL! I was so desperate to see how this all ended, the build-up to the grand finale was evil torture in itself, I refrained, but it didn't stop the frantic page-turning that ensued as I lapped up every, single morsel. "I suppose everything is normal when you don't know any better." The 4MK killer is leaps and bounds ahead of the police, always has been, but this man has plotted and schemed for a long time to pull off the perfect serial killer spree with seemingly little repercussion. 4MK is clever and conniving, highly intelligent, the police and the CIA are his puppets and he is definitely pulling all the strings, all the way to the bitter end. Sam Porter seems to be drowning in all things 4MK and maybe this is the one case that will break him. Sam doesn't know who to trust, even his own mind at times and all this leads to one heart-stopping finale. 4MK and Sam Porter were formidable adversaries but every single character was well fleshed out and as their backgrounds and intertwined pasts are gently eeked out throughout this book, each puzzle piece slowly locks firmly into place. The Fourth Monkey and The Fifth to Die were the edges of this gazillion piece puzzle and this 600+ page beauty is all the middle. I'm still astounded by this authors talent, what an intricate story to deliver while keeping the reader's attention throughout. Every single thing was perfectly delivered and expertly crafted. There are not enough superlatives to explain just how amazing this series is and I am so jealous of anyone picking it up for the first time. This is definitely my all-time favourite crime thriller series and I will continue to shout it from the rooftops. If you love this type of read, then this series is definitely a must. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Bravo, JD Barker. You nailed this series. "Hear no evil." "See no evil." "Hear no evil." "Do no evil." Review: A neat black bow tied around an enthralling trilogy. - 5 solid stars + WOW! Mr. Barker truly managed to create a villain so devious, so vengeful and so brilliant that I didn't know whether to hate him or applaud him. (In the end, I did neither.) The beat down (not physically) Bishop put on Detective Porter was a pure masterpiece of cunning, revenge and the purest form of evil. Considering Bishop's upbringing, this is totally within his nature. The plot(s) were seamlessly written and interwoven. More main characters roles and personalities were further detailed, adding additional substance and humor to the story. Alliances were altered and realities twisted. It was like reading a book at warp speed and savoring every single word. Taking place all over the United States, the final book in the 4MK series pulled no punches and overturned many stones. And what was once hidden beneath those stones left this reader utterly shocked and fully captivated. An amazing conclusion to an outstanding trilogy. Mr. Barker, I have stated it before and will again. In my opinion, you ARE the next Stephen King. If the two of you were ever to collaborate on a book, I would fear for my sanity...but still read it! I highly recommend this book, as if you could not infer that by now. Only one editing error was found, and this I overlooked due to the pure entertainment I derived from reading this story. **Note*** This trilogy is meant to be read in sequence. Otherwise, you will be totally confused.

Twists and turns
Some were seen and some unseen. I really enjoyed this series. This was the perfect ending to tie up the 4MK thriller series. Sam, Anson, neither one, or both? Were they partners, or working against each other, or never knew each other at all? You need to read it to find out.

Excellent Novel in an Excellent Series
No Spoilers in My Reviews Mr Barker does quite an astonishing job of creating a series that is unforgettable and astonishingly well-crafted. It has such a dearth of necessary qualities that heighten a story from being readable to becoming nearly impossible to put down. His characters, both large and small are very fully realized over time. The way that he takes so many steps to ensure that the reader feels as though the person or persons on the page feel veritably tangible due to his deep understanding and unparalleled ability to keep the plot moving while each aspect is heightened due to his natural skill and clearly indefatigable desire to maintain his story. There are so many ways to feel about different characters at different times. Bishop is an excellent character of many many intriguing qualities. He's a character that any author would take great pride in creating. The same could be said of Sam. They are both hugely bound in this story, yet there are so many surprises that one is sure to never be bored. It really is a very well done thriller. Each one of my five stars I give is earned and happily given. There is so much to this book and series that I find it one of those books that pretty much anybody would enjoy reading. As Always I Wish Happy Reads to All from, the Unapologetic Book Junkie!

BEST psychological thriller Ever!!
The fact this was a 3 book series was a huge bonus!! Barker knows how to keep you on your toes and biting your nails!! I read all 3 books in 5 days and that's great for me with a 2 year old in the house, I stayed up past midnight several nights just so I could absorb as much as I could with no distractions. These books pull you in so much so you feel like some just on the outside of everything that's happening and you want to help figure it out. I wanted to know what finally happened to Bishop and Porter then when it ended, I really wanted to have more to read about them. I highly recommend this book!!

THERE ARE NO WORDS...
Thus was the VERY BEST series I have ever read and I'm an avid reader. I finished the first book in a day. I could not put it down. It grips you from the very start and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The author has an amazing way of making you feel like you know the characters personally. I loved then all...even the bad guy sometimes. The 2nd book started off slow. Or at least slower than the first. But a few chapters in it picked up and you were in the roller coaster ride again. I tried to start the last book before finishing the 2nd but I stopped after reading the first chapter in book #3 and went back and finished the second one. I would highly recommend reading all 3 books in order or else you are going to miss out on important info. The last book was my absolute favorite. It kept me guessing till the very end. Every time I thought I might have it figured out the author would throw another curve ball that would blow my mind. There are so many twists and tuns in thus series. But the author did a beautiful job of bringing it all together at the end. I finished the last book in half a day. This is def one of my new favorite authors. Tip notch series and I'm really sad it ended but the story wrapped up beautifully and nothing was left unanswered. I highly recommend reading this series. I promise it will not disappoint.

Outstanding series
I’ve seen this series mentioned on more then one occasion, so I was very interested in reading it and I’m so glad that I did. The first book was a little slow but was building the back story. I convinced myself to keep going so I jumped in to the second promising that I would take a break after book two….that didn’t happen. This series might have Ben a slow build but once it grabs hold all you can do is hold on. I got so into all the characters, some I loved, some not so much. The amount of little details through out just truly genius. The twists upon twists that kept me guessing. The closer to the end, I literally couldn’t read it fast enough with my jaw dropped the entire time. I can’t recommend this series enough!

hello book hangover
Now let’s see how long it takes me to recover from this series! Definitely a good series, but also found myself getting lost in the amount of people that kept being added or to keep track of.

Perfect ending to an amazing trilogy
“The Sixth Wicked Child” (TSWC) by J D Barker is the third and final book in the Four Monkey Killer (4MK) trilogy. Simply put this book is superb. In fact I’m not sure that I can properly explain how good this book is (not only individually but also as a stunning conclusion to the 4MK series) without starting to sound like a gushing fan-boy. So I’ll do it in a few for points: - more twists and turns than San Francisco’s famous Lombard Street! Think you’ve got it picked...think again - the writing is tight, fast paced, and keeps the reader engaged from page one; a classic page turner - Barker’s style is easy to read and makes the reader feel the urgency, dread, and frustrations of the characters - the ending! Sometimes you can read a series of books but, while enjoyable, the end leaves you a little disappointed. Not here. The ending is perfect and extremely satisfying. An excellent book on its own merits (while Barker provides enough background info throughout TSWC does start straight from the end of the previous 4MK book) I would suggest that it’s true beauty is how it caps off the 4MK series. Either way, and if you like your crime thrillers, this (and indeed the entire 4MK trilogy - The Fourth Monkey and The Fifth To Die) should be in your “Must Read” list. TSWC gets 5 very large and shining stars out of 5.

Absolutely brilliant
What a trilogy. Great plotting, character building and suspense. I've torn through these three books at lighting speed, marvelling at the twists and turns along the way. It's such a clever series that I found literally unputdownable. I'm sure my family will be glad that I've finished - there's not a clean cup in the house and my husband informs me that he's wearing yesterday's socks. I'm off to download Mr Barker's other books, so dirty socks might become a thing...

Highly recommended
After reading all three books I can safely say they are some of the best I have ever read. All three books kept me on the edge of my seat permanently and I never knew what was going to happen next. Great reads.

先が読めない
久しぶりにはまり一気読みした本です。 本当に面白かった。難しい専門用語もあまりないし、随所に重要人物のまとめも書かれていて読みやすいです。 I loved The 4MK Thriller Triology. I just couldn't put it down. Of course I only had a few sleeps for a while, but I'm glad I was able to buy all three series at the same time. (I just can't imagine how people were able to wait for a couple of years to be able to complete this triology) I think it is a must read book!
