The Companion Bible: Enlarged Type Edition

A nice and heavy bible. It's thick and I like it's heftiness. The references are wonderful: I learned some details on my first reading. I bought the paperback in large print. I also have a leather 1989 edition. I recommend if you enjoy studying The Word of God. The large print makes reading a lot easier. Having two of the same book allows you study one portion while referencing subjects.

No hard cover for me and I got just what I wanted - handsome leather quality. Not too big or clumsy. Rich burgundy color. Very satisfied with my purchase. Really nice.

This version of KJV has the fewer omissions than other canonical texts of the day.Matthew 17:21 for example, is present & unadulterated; while in other bibles it's removes important parts, or as in NIV, is completely omitted.It's a spiritual companion, indeed.

The media could not be loaded. My review is for the genuine leather thumb index KJV companion bible, the imprint on the front cover was done after I purchased this bible. This companion bible is a great study aid for anyone who is interested in diving deeper into scripture, the study notes in the Bible are not his own words and ideas but rather scripture reference with other scripture it breaks down the biblical text into manageable sections to help bible students understand verse by verse chapter by chapter, it’s a unique study bible the only other study bible I own that reminds of this companion bible is NewBerry reference Study bible. The companion bible can be intimidating at first but once you start to read God’s Word daily it becomes second nature, the structure of the companion Bible is one of a kind. The 198 appendixes in the back is E.W. Bullinger own interpretation of certain scriptures/doctrines which are helpful but shouldn’t be preferred over God’s Word. The font size in this particular bible is small it’s like reading an oversized Pitt Minion it doesn’t bother me, I’m in my 40’s with good eyesight but if you’re someone who has trouble reading small print it’s best to buy the large print, this genuine leather companion Bible is a nice size not too big or small, however if you decide to buy the large print it’s a huge bible, the standard print like the one I purchased is perfect, it only comes with a single ribbon, the gold gilding is amazing, the dark biblical text print is bold. There’s plenty of margin space to take notes that’s a huge plus for me and the paper in the genuine leather bibles is better than the hardcover in my opinion. My first time buying the companion bible was a few months after I accepted the free gift of salvation from God through Jesus Christ, and since it was my first time actually reading a bible buying the companion Bible felt like a mistake on my part, so with that said this might not be a good study tool for a new believer, but if you’re determined to study daily and not let the structure layout intimidate you you’ll love this bible, if you can only afford for instance two bibles you’ll definitely want to buy the Thompson chain reference bible or another reference bible first and the companion bible second. You won’t go wrong picking up this bible to add to your library. God bless ✝️

Glad I got the large print

The fact that I bought it from a book club had no bearing on my thoughts as to condition. They explained it had a couple of wrinkled pages in the beginning and end of the book.There was nothing else wrong.

Great study Bible, this Bible will help you to see and understand how to let the Bible become its own interpreter without getting caught up in traditions of men and false teachings.I sure wish people would stop refering to the information in the margin as "commentary" because it is not "commentary". Please read the preface to this most excellent Bible before you call it "commentary" as it is very clear in stating that the information found in the margin is NOT commentary but rather notes, translations, references, indisputable facts etc.Remember:It is not a new translation.It is not an ammended translation.It is not a commentary.Also this does not go against the Holy Trinity. I wont even try to go in to detail on this subject and instead will just say: if you think Bullinger or this Bible was/is teaching against the Holy Trinity then you are not paying attention and are most likely being weighed down by traditions of men and false teachers.There is a good reason Bullinger did not want his name associated with this work and this claim is a good example of why. Man has a habit of clinging to things other men say and refusing to let go despite evidence to the contrary because "some preacher said so and so and he has this degree... and blah blah blah"Traditions of men make void the word of God.Bullinger was just a man and like any other man was susceptible to error. That said i feel his errors were kept to a minimum in this work and that as a whole it is simply the best "all in one package" you will find without having need of an entire library of books.Bullinger was right where God wanted him imho.But had he been a part of this generation he would have been even more of a Great Scholar. Think of all the things that have taken place since Bullinger passed away. ALOT has happened that may have caused him to rethink some positions he took(or didnt take).1947- 1948A.D.(for example)would have had him jumping up and down saying "its happening, its happening, just as God said it would!, the generation of the fig tree has begun!"Anyway buy it and enjoy this study companion and stay away from those "new translations" that make void the word of God.

This book is one of the best I have seen. The authors went deeper and brought out how they came to their conclusions for example of how we can ascertain that Christ was not crucified on Friday as the Christian community wants us to believe. They gave us the real timeline of how and when Yeshua died and rose, something the ordinary Christian doesn't have clue about just as much as some of the so-called pastors have no clue about because they want to continue propagating the old lies. Any Christian wanting wanting to know more about the Bible must read this.

This is an excellent study Bible, the best really. There are many editions but avoid the paperback version, go for the 'Kregel' publishers edition, they offer a large print size along with the original.

WORD of GOD is wonderful indeed....This Bible is best for study who wants to do do deep study its like ocean...
