Protec MX304CT Alto Saxophone Contoured MAX Case, Black

My daughter asked for a backpack saxophone case and this one had great reviews and is high quality. It has a zipper closure and is very lightweight with a front pocket to hold extra reeds and pencils. You can hide the backpack straps if you just want to carry it like a normal case, so the versatility is perfect. It is molded on the inside with a soft material and it is the perfect amount of stability for the Yamaha alto sax. It honestly is not much bigger than the saxophone itself, so she is very happy with it!

Needed a case with backpack straps, and this one is great! It makes carrying my alto sax on stairs much easier and frees my hands to hold the handrail. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love

this exceeeded all of my expectations. I am so impressed with this case. It is my son's saxophone case that replaced the big bulky, brown, not easy to carry case for his saxophone. The backpack feature allows him to carry it over his backpack. He changes the straps depending on what he is doing. The handles don't leave the indentations in his hand like the big brown suitcase (it isn't really a suitcase but seems like it). I didn't think it would be as durable, especially for a 7th grade band student. I highly recommended this to his band director.

Light and sturdy and plenty of pockets space. The non-zippered pocket used for backpack strap *does* fit 8.5"x11" letter paper with room to spare (see pic) and so does the zippered pocket under it. It can also fit folders that are a little larger than letter size, and I even tested a small ringed binder fits in that zippered pocket. Presumably also A4 letter would fit. But large folders or binders won't fit. Also the front pocket seems big enough for a regular flute, but my glory flute with B extension case seems is just slightly too big to fit. The interior fits my vibrato plastic alto, though not absolutely snugly, but provided I ducktape a bit of foam at the spots where it is loose, presumably it will fit perfectly. And plenty of options for how to carry the case. I also have their bass clarinet case and am pleased with that, too.

Easy to carry and lightweight. Several ways to carry including backpack style. Case can become dirty as can everything that is cloth, so it's hard to clean but it still outweighs have to carry a bulky hard case around.

The alto sax fits in it like a glove! Tight and secure. The original Yamaha hard shell case is too heavy. Our daughter has expressed so many times how happy she's now that she can easily carry her sax. I was concerned not being able to find this case in town. Our other daughter has a trumpet case of the same brand (bought locally). These cases are high end and worth every penny.
