Best ergonomic keyboard (from another ergonomic keyboard junkie)
I almost passed on this keyboard because of some bad reviews. Luckily, I decided to buy it as a cheap option for office keyboard and it is worth every penny.I am an academic writer, so I spend my day typing. I suffer from a lot of pain on my wrist, which was seriously minimized since I started using ergonomic keyboards 6 years ago. I started with the simpler versions sold by Microsoft and was faithful to my Microsoft Sculpt for four years after that. The sculpt is a great option and I would buy it again, but it is pricey. This mechanical version has an even more comfortable design and the keys are slightly deep, but they do not offer resistance, making them super comfortable. The bulky and big part is another feature that I love. I have enough space between keys and a strong keyboard to support my wrists. Microsoft also added extra subtle curves from the front to the back part of the keyboard (in addition to the dent) and I am loving that as it decreases the tension on my wrists even more (my hands do not have to go up and down as much to reach certain keys). In addition to that, no more concerns about replacing batteries and producing more garbage/spending more money. I am sure I will settle for this keyboard for as long as it lasts or, at least, until Microsoft releases and backlit ergonomic keyboard.I have a Logitech Ergo that was a gift and I consider this Microsoft ergonomic keyboard way better, considering that the Ergo keys offer more resistance, which I do not like, in addition to the annoying noise.Important: the keyboard comes with a riser for the front part. I struggled a lot to find this info.

Curved and ergonomic, great price, reliable
I love the keyboards, but to understand why I need to walk through a story...When I type for several hours in a row (writing a paper, writing code, responding to excessive quantities of emails...), my wrists and hands get sore. Two products help reduce this effect - wearing padded wrist gaurds (such as the elbow sleeves sold for sports, but wearing them more forward than they're designed), and I don't need any medication. My previous keyboards (at work and at home) were Logitech K860 that I liked had great ergonomics and aesthetics. However, those keyboards lagged every now and then. Early on, this could be solved by turning the keyboards on and off. The lag condition became worse after several months, to the point where the keyboards couldn't be fixed by restarting, rendering them un-usable. I have since replaced both with this Microsoft keyboard, and haven't regretted it one bit. I can quickly type on this keyboard for hours without muscle fatigue. The one way I'd improve the keyboard is to make the keypress less force and also less distance, but that's just moving the keyboard from an A to A+.I will also say, the ~$50 price is incredible, to the point where I'll keep one at every place I type significantly (home, work, parents' house) for the forseeable future.

Different keys than MS Ergo 4000 Keyboard
I've been using Microsoft's Natural Ergonomic Keyboards ever since they first came out (I think like the early 2000's). One of my two MS 4000 Ver1.0 died so I bought this one.Keys - I do a lot of typing and playing games, I'm used to the 4000's configuration, and don't care much for others brands of keyboards that I've sampled. I was very concerned that the LXM-00001's different keyboard configuration, especially what seemed to be the absence of some special keys (e.g. web zoom +/-) and status lights (Num Lock, Cap lock, etc.). After I plugged in the LXM-00001 and tested all the keys, I am relieved and even very happy with the new configuration and added functions. The MS Office 360 Online key - I don't have that Office online so I'd like to see if I can change that key to booting up my other MS Office software like MS Word or something else. Otherwise, the button this button will be useless to me.I rarely use the function keys. On the 4000, the functions are written on the keys (Undo, Redo, Help, Save, etc.). On the LXM-00001, the keys only say F1,...,F12 which is fine by me.On the 4000, it has the Zoom +/-. I use that one all the time for web pages and documents. I really wish they kept that key. I guess I'll have to start using the Cont+(+/-) keys do perform this function while using this keyboard. They added some neat keys too. One key you push allows you to select any part of the desktop as an image and copy the selected image into you clipboard for pasting into apps.Another key opens up a history of MS files that you have opened over the past 30 days. Neat.I think the search (magnifying glass) key is interesting but I don't know how useful it will be. It seems that clicking on the Windows key essentially does the same function. After clicking on the windows key, if you start typing, it will also perform a search function.Side note re: Hand rests - Both my old 4000's hand rest pads wore out, not pretty looking but still very functional. The new version has one hand rest pad that spans the whole keyboard which is fine. I hope this model's hand rest pads lasts longer.
