Ultralight Backpacking Goodness!
I bought this as part of my primary sleep/shelter system for backpacking trips. Hammock camping is completely different than hammock napping; staying warm over night takes more than just getting in a sleeping bag (you'll compress the insulation under you and it won't insulate) but once you understand the basics, it's a wonderful back country choice. (Hammockforums.net is a great source of information if you're interested.) I replaced the carabiners with "whoopie slings" (google it), a light weight tarp, a "top quilt" and an "under quilt" for under 3 pounds. Very few sleep/shelter systems can approach this weight and none that are close to this weight offer such a comfortable way to sleep. This is a small hammock but I can lay at a slight angle across the hammock and sleep on my side. (I'm 5-10, 170 pounds.) Larger hammocks have more fabric that cradles you, with the Nano 7, you have to get used to the feel of being right on the edge. Using my extra clothes in a stuff sack as a pillow, I spent 3 comfortable nights in temperatures ranging from 80 to just under 50 and the very light weight kept my pack weight down and that meant more comfortable hiking too. So, if you're looking for what I was looking for- the lightest camping hammock known to man, you found it.

My favorite hammock
I have had my Nano for almost a year now, and I love it! We also have an ENO Double Nest and a few Grand Trunk Ultralights, which are all great, but the Nano is by far my favorite. First, it's just cool - how could something so small unfold to be such an incredibly comfortable and strong hammock? I've used my Nano in several types of situations, like camping, hiking, hanging out at the lake, and reading in the backyard. It is so light-weight that I can easily slip it into my purse and have it with me for whatever might come up. One time that I was very thankful to have the Nano in my purse was when I unexpectedly got stuck at an airport overnight and used the hammock as a blanket. After a year's worth of heavy use, my Nano is still in great shape. 2016 UPDATE: This hammock is still in great shape after several years of regular use. 2021 UPDATE: Still my favorite hammock after 10 years. The best upgrade I've made was getting a custom asym tarp from Simply Light Designs that covers my nano perfectly and is also light weight.

One of the lightest hammocks made
This hammock was rated one of the lightest available. I’ve had great success with Grand Trunk before so decided to try it. Lighter did not equal weaker. Seven ounces of woven unicorn hair. Tried it. No complaints. Bought a second one for myself. This review is for the third one I’ve purchased, this time for my daughter. I love these !!

A little narrow..
It's a very light hammock- mission accomplished there. For its weight, it's a wonderful thing. However, to pare weight, it's been made exceptionally narrow, so it's far from the most comfortable hammock I've ever slept in. Ultralight hikers, don't forget that sleep is almost as important as footware-- add a couple ounces of weight and get a bigger hammock.

Fantastic Hammock for Everything but Sleeping
I'm having a slightly difficult time reviewing this product. On one hand the hammock is a superb, high-quality product. On the other hand, the hammock is very difficult to sleep in because of its smaller dimensions. Hence the difficulty of the review -- how do I take into account my (lack of) personal comfort in a fantastic hammock? I've owned this hammock for a year now and have taken it on 3 maybe 4 backpacking trips. I LOVE the weight and size of this hammock when it is stuffed in its stuff sack. When packed, it is about the size of a large orange and weighs next to nothing. The quality of the Nano 7 is top-notch; high quality fabric, triple stitched on the ends, and excellent carabiners. This is where the review gets a little difficult; I love the product, I'm glad I bought it, but I just can't get comfortable while laying in it. At 5' 8'' I'm not the tallest guy on the planet, yet I still have a hard time finding a comfortable sleeping position in the hammock. Part of the problem, I think, are the dimensions of the hammock. In order to achieve the 7 oz hammock weight, Grand Trunk had to skimp on the fabric. At only 9' by 4' this hammock is shorter and slimmer than almost all other hammocks on the market. I will not be taking this hammock backpacking anymore. However, I do like it for lounging in the back yard or at my local park.

Small, light, multiple uses, nice feel.
Best features are compact size and very light weight. Easy to add to my backpack for multiple uses. Makes a nice hammock for relaxing on hikes. For multi-night backpacking and car camping, I hang this under my main hammock to keep my gear off the ground, dry, and in easy reach. I really like the texture of the fabric. Very cool on warm days. Also a favorite for napping in the patio on a lazy weekend.

Great product for what it is
I've owned this hammock for a little over two years. Replaced the carabiners with dyaglide whoopie slings, a titanium tent stake for a marlin spike, and amsteel for tree huggers. Probably the lightest set up you can get. It's really sketchy when you first get into it but going that it's rated for 300 plus. I don't think you'll ever run into problems. Great product for what it is, minimal wear and tear. I do wish they would eliminate the patch on the side of the bag.

Ultralight, just not worth it.
The loop that the carabiner goes through ripped and dropped me to the ground. I was 100lbs under the max weight limit

Small, sturdy, comfortable.
I got this for my boyfriend and he loved it! Great product, he's 6'2 and he loves lounging in it, although he finds it a bit small to sleep in. He still loves it!

Incredibly light and compact, could be roomier
This is my second Grand Trunk hammock. The first was the one with the bug screen, which is super awesome on those buggy camping trips, but was a bit bulky for just throwing into my daypack. The nano is fantastic for that, packing into the integrated stuff sack and is really light. I use the hammock with the Vivere tree straps, which now weigh more and is larger than the hammock itself. Size wise, it is definitely smaller than the other hammock, with the downside of not being able to wrap it around me when a cool breeze comes in. I'm 5'9" and the hammock fits me fine, but I can't see someone a lot taller being comfortable.

Tolle Idee und tolle Verarbeitung, praktisch Hängematte to go
