SplatSplat Hair Color 1.5 Oz Individual Packs Purple Desire

This color is really nice. It will stay longer if your hair has been bleached ! For lengthening the time it stays most vibrant, avoid shampooing as frequently, and when you do, use color safe/sulfate free in your hair to reduce the amount of color loss. The color will bleed when it comes in contact with water for at least the first couple of times after your first application. Your pillow might also become purple, especially if you go to bed with wet hair. Be aware that your freshly dyed hair will stain things if it is wet. Splat hair dye always does this, doesn’t matter the color. I used this purple to ombré into splat pink, and it worked well.

This stuff is messy and stains everything (skin, scalp, carpet, walls LoL) so you have to be very careful with it.. But the color is worth it. I wash my hair with cold water to make it last longer. It stays in my hair longer than any other brand of purple I've tried.

The only problem with this dye is that, like everyone is saying, it's SUPER watery, and therefore that much harder to apply to your hair. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it. I don't get why they couldn't just include the same dye as they include in the kits, but whatever, not a huge problem. It seemed to be just as effective and long-lasting as the dye that comes in the kits, so I was happy. There was just enough to touch up the ends of my hair (I have a purple ombre-type style), by personal estimate, maybe half as much as the bottle that comes in the kits. Same color and everything. Good overall.

Very watery. Will probably mix with conditioner to thicken it up.Edit: added conditioner to get it a little thicker. YOU WON’T NEED MUCH. CONDITIONER. I recommend using VO5 conditioner because it doesn’t affect the coloring process and it nourishes your hair as you color it. I have purple and teal hair and redone my purple (without bleaching) because after it faded, there were blonde spots. It worked great when it comes to coloring. However IT DOESN'T HAVE GLOVES OR A BRUSH. Make sure you have those already when you use the product. The aroma is pleasant like most Splat products, this one smelled of blueberries.

I love Splat product because they DO NOT come out of your hair. I have purple hair. The splat "bleeds" a little when I wash it with a sulfur-free shampoo but is in my hair until I change it. I get grow out more than the purple changes. When I have 2 inch roots I usually add more color. This is the perfect amount for grow out.

Very disappointed. This color washed out of my daughter's hair very quickly. Within 2 days her purple (her favorite color) turned into pink (her least favorite color) hair. She was embarrassed at school and we almost cut her hair until we found a different brand that worked really well. This product was terrible...a waste of my daughter's birthday money.

Excellent dye. I don't bleach my hair, so I end up with a darker purple that lasts a long while. It's been over three months since I last dyed, and my hair is still purple at the ends. (It's grown out at the roots, of course, so that new bit isn't purple.)

Live that this is actually a stain. Stays in longer than traditional colouring and you don’t have to wash your hair in cold water all the time. Only downfall is will stain your towels for a couple of months after using.

Very disappointed! My kids got it and used it on bleached hair, it lasted only 2 days! Stick with the Splat! in the box, that stuff is awesome!

Haven’t used but feels very watery and concerned that it will just stain the skin and not be enough to colour a full head of hair
