Gifts from the Kitchen (Williams-Sonoma Kitchen Library)

I bought this book so that I wouldn't have to keep checking it out of the library! It's great. I am only disappointed that the book, although new, has two ribbons attached to mark pages; and those ribbons damaged two pages -- unfortunately the two that contain the recipes I use the most. I'm disappointed, but only by the ribbons.

The content is conveniently separated into sections: Candies & Confections, Baked Gifts, Savories and Canned Gifts. There are also short but very informative sections on equipment you might need, gift wrapping and presentation.The recipes strike a nice balance between being too plain and too fancy or overly complicated. I especially liked that all kinds of baking goods and candies where well represented: cookies, breads, toffee, praline, caramels, fudge, etc.The book is small (only about 100 pages) but beautifully illustrated and itself could be a great gift for any cook.

All my William Sonoma books ordered were in great condition. Sonoma books are beautiful and loaded with gorgeous full page pictures. Recipes are surprisingly uncomplicated yet finished products are truly elegant and delicious.

This book was so so. It arrived very quickly and in great condition. Wish there were more "normal" ideas in there rather than the more gourmet recipes.

who doesn't like anything williams-sonoma? i loved the book. I bake every year for christmas more than 1500 cookies, was glad i could add something else.
