Worst Protection Plan Ever
I bought this Protection Plan from Asurion, and after about 8 months some damage happened to the my child's violin under this plan. I contacted Assurion and they said it is covered. They sent me a UPS label and requested me to return it by UPS. I went to UPS shop and submitted it to them. Luckily, when they asked me if I need a receipt, I replied Yes. This was on Aug 28th 2021. When I didn't see a response from Asurion, I checked the tracking at about 3 weeks, and saw that the status was still (Shipped). I contacted Asurion, but they said that I have to check with UPS. I went back to UPS, who in turn, provided me a warehouse number that I have to contact to see what the issue is. At this number, no person could be reached. The value of the violin was around $40 only. Every month or so, I used to check with Asurion to see why this issue is happening. In January 2022, I saw that UPS tracking record is no longer showing any status. I connected with chat support, who tried to help. I told her that there an issue between Asurion and UPS, that I should not be involved in. Why Asurion was requiring me to check with UPS? I already gave them the package. They shipped it and provided me with a receipt proving this. After around an hour of chatting with Asurion support, she said that a supervisor will review, and they may require additional documentation, and that a (DECISION) will be made in 3-4 working days. After a couple of days, I got an email requesting a copy of the receipt. Thanks God I said Yes at UPS. I uploaded it to the portal as per their request. It took around 10 days for another email to arrive requesting Amazon's proof of purchase. I did so as well. Now, after more than one month of uploading this email, no response from Asurion at all. I even emailed them earlier this week to check the status but didn't receive any response.This is only $40. What if the price is $400 or more? Does it worth it to purchase any protection plan from them. I will never do that again.
