DIAL 3073 DuraCool Cooler Pad, 29" x 30"

I got a good price on these pads and ordered them large enough to double up for my garage cooler. They work very well IF they have proper water flow. Since they are much thinner than aspen pads (about 1" thick), I would strongly recommend doubling the material. If you're using them in a cooler with a "V"-shaped trough at the top, at least order them large and bunch the material up at the top so all the water is absorbed by the pad. The material is simple to fold and cut with scissors and - at least when used doubled - provides the maximum cooling possible through evaporation (about 30 degrees F in low humidity). Unlike paper pads and even aspen pads, these are virtually odor-free.As with any evaporative cooler, be sure to use a runoff line to drain off a small amount of the water while the pump is running to prevent mineral buildup. Adjust the runoff so that the sump capacity is drained off every 8 hours or so, and check the flow rate regularly because the minerals tent to clog the runoff line. Not doing so, or not draining off enough water, will greatly diminish your cooler's efficiency and the life of your pads.A better alternative is an automatic drain pump that empties the sump every 8 hours. These are just like the circulating pump with a built-in timer and cost about $40 and are simple to install.

This Cooler Pad has dry gel that absorbs the water and enhances the cooling ability of the evaporation. It also is anit microbial so it wont get funky after use. It is washable and cleanable with gentle care. I put mine in the top rack of the dishwasher with a half gal white vinegar on a light cycle. (No dish soap obviously) This cooler pad is able to be cut to the dimension you require, with out falling apart. Use a straight edge when doing so.

The cooler pad seems to work for its intended use, however be careful when you handle it because it sheds tons of tiny plastic fibers. They got all over our house when I opened the box and carried the pad around.

Arrived on time and seems to work good. The one problem may be the shipping as it was folded in half, and then in half again, (twice). Folding a product like this only introduces weak points where the produce could fail and longevity of product is compromised. I would like to see it rolled and shipped in a tube, or rolled with paper/plastic holding it. But other than shipping, all is good so far.

It worked perfectly. I was able to get my project done because it was what I needed. The price was reasonable.

I made a evaporator fan using this cooling pad and it’s holding up great while the temperature stays cool like 68 degrees.

Our single pad cooler does not cool great but these are like no pad at all. 100 deg. outside, 100 deg. inside. Back to organic.
