Aprilaire #4704 Seal Kit for Model 5000 Air Cleaner

I’m 71yr old female. I service my family’s HVAC system. Last year I noticed the insulation was severely damaged and worn in the unit and ordered these replacements. Easy to install and what a difference in the air output and freshness. Well worth it to do the upkeep on our Aprilaire HVAC

I would never buy this kit again. For $24 I got two thin pieces of fibreglass insulation. You are supposed to fasten these with adhesive which is not part of the kit. This kit is ridiculously overpriced. If I have the need to replace these "seals" again I will cobble something together that is less expensive and more durable.

My air cleaners are 12 years old and needed some updating. I purchased this kit and found it to be a perfect fit but rather expensive given it is two thin pieces of fiberglass insulation and you have to supply your own contact cement. I stumbled on a small roll of thin fiberglass at Home Depot for $10 and made the second air filter seal from that saving myself a some money.

We needed to replace the filter on our gas furnace. This part of the filter was exactly as ordered and helped complete the job.

Not much I can say about this... It keeps my filter from freezing... About it.

We have not replaced the seal in our Aprilaire before and were a little nervous about doing it. However, the instructions were great and it worked just fine. Although the unit is not old, we replaced it more to prevent problems and we are very glad that we did.

I bought this to replace existing seal kit that was dusty and gross. However, as I thought about it it seemed like a bad idea to put fiberglass into a system where it could blow around and get into the air I am breathing. It seems like a soft foam would work better. Unfortunately, they will not allow me to return the item.

Installed fine
