In Search Of Truth was the one album that secured the international breakthrough for Swedish dark melodic metal band EVERGREY in 2001. Today it is regarded as a classic album of the band maybe THE album of their entire discography. In Search Of Truth" is also the first album fully developing the unique dark and atmospheric sound EVERGREY has been known for ever since. It was also their first album to have a closed of lyrical concept which is based around the themes of extraterrestrial life and alien abductions. Tracks like The Masterplan", Rulers Of The Mind" or Misled" are still among the fan favorites today, maybe because they feature all trademarks Evergrey is known for: dense and dark atmosphere, catchy hooks and expressive songwriting. As a part of EVERGREY's remasters series, now also In Search Of Truth" is going to be re-released. The original recordings have been carefully remastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids, Amaranthe). The re-issue comes as Digipak and (double-)vinyl (available in several colors), both with bonus tracks.

Great album and great band!
Another great album by a great band. Well worth picking up if you're a progressive metal fan.

Oblivion set to Music
In Search of Truth is inspired. The entire album tells a story. Of what I'm not sure. Aliens for sure, but are they real or imaginary, creating havoc in his warped mind. The Amazing music is like nothing I've ever heard. It's heavy metal with symphonic influences, but I've never heard such music with such emotion, such confusion, such total agony. Singer composer and band leader Tom Englund's raspy voice is perfect for this music.Kudos to Evergrey. If you haven't heard In Search of Truth, you're in for a real treat.

Worth the wait...
When I first heard the MP3 samples of some of the songs on this I knew it was good and that I'd like it, but I was discovering Pain of Salvation at the time and thought I'd wait till a point when I needed a new bandwagon to jump on ;o)Well, I'm not disappointed. This is a great album full of catchy songs (the kind you like in your head all day). There's some tasteful guitar work with enough technicality to impress. I can hear a bit of Andy La Rocque's influence in the production (an exemplary guitarist, King Diamond) and this just adds to the interest. The keyboards don't quite fit all the time, but now I appreciate the extra melody line they bring to the music. I also like the varitey in the drumming, some nice work.Lyrically, a lot of people have interpreted it as a story of alien abduction, but it is actually a story of mental illness/paranoia and very well written.Based on this release, Evergrey are one of the shining lights of 'progressive' metal. Maybe I'll wait to buy their next cd (Recreation Day) as well. Even if I'm a bit behind the times, this one should keep me happy for a while and I'd like to keep the bandwagon rolling as long as possible.

Album Identificativo
