Nice, warm & clever. I named it trevor
This is perfect! I marshal on rallies in all seasons & I have been looking for something like this for years. It will fit under my waterproof hood because otherwise it would become a sponge!I went out for a walk with the dog to test it out the other day (snowing & a windchill took temperature down to about -5) & it's just fantastic! Because it is designed to sit underneath your outer layer (coat or large jumper) it keeps every bit of your neck warm. Infact warm isn't the best word to describe the temperature it can maintain. I walk my dog on a regular basis & around a 3 mile reservoir. It's a nice walk but it's open to the elements. Not in this it isn't!I genuinely felt like my head was in the tropics! You feel the benefits almost immediately & the only draw back is controlling the heat!As we lose a lot of heat through our heads this is just brilliant. It will keep you warm in any weather up to polar exploration (ok don't take my word for it but I stuck my head in the freezer for a bit & I was fine). As I vape, the mouth flap is ingenious!I used to use a neck warmer (or topless hat your choice) & whilst it did the job. It was nowhere near as good as this thing. It's not restrictive & it is just comfort. When I went for a puff on my cig, I didn't have to go through the rigmarole of pulling down the neck warmer & then trying to get it back in just the right spot. Now it's a simple flip my flap, take a drag & flap my flip back up. If you want to be warm outside & don't want to spend £100's on a jacket because let's face it, your normal jacket is nice & warm but just doesn't cover the bases then click the buy now & thank me later.

Far better than I'd imagined.
I wasn't expecting a lot from this hood/buff so I got much more than I'd bargained for! The fit for me is perfect and there's a versatility about this separate hood that appeals to me because I really don't like hooded jackets but could now and then use a hood, especially in winter. It warms me up nicely, but when working in a wintry garden I can still get a bit too hot sometimes if the work I'm doing is a bit strenuous, so now and then I have to drop it back off my head and cool down a little - it's that snug. If out on a walk it can likewise get a bit toasty and I have to do the same. Where it really scores are those cold windy days when the bitter wind strips away all your warmth - this does a great job of keeping things pleasant. If walking on a cold sunny day that is calm it may be enough to wear it as a "buff" (the neck covering that bikers use to bridge the gap between jacket and helmet). And of course you have the option of putting it away altogether, so it really appeals to me.The fabric felt a bit thin on first encounter, but any thicker and I'd forever have been slipping it back off my head to dissipate heat (I'd had no idea that my head radiated so much heat from under that thatch of hair!). The stitching is fine too, I'm not going to give it a hard time in use, so it'll stay the course. The draw cords - I've just not used those except to see what difference they made. I think I'd have to be out in a blizzard before they saw some use because the temperature inside just skyrocketed!Like all hoods it can restrict vision to the sides, so I'd avoid wearing it when cycling although the headwinds would probably not be a problem (it stays put well, on me), but for working outdoors, when it can be easy to forget that it is cold and you risk ending up with a bit of a chill, or walking in bitter winds it really is fit for purpose.I think its great, far better than I'd imagined.

Looks good but far too big for a child
I bought this based on the description of fits a child. My 11 yr old is wearing this. It fits him on the neck piece but is far too big in the face and therefore does not cover his mouth and nose . He has tightened it with the drawstring but it looks very silly now. Apart from it not fitting properly it does look nice, it is soft and I'm sure it would be nice and warm. Arrived on time.

Very warm, great for outdoors
I got lot more hood than I expected, and especially given how little it cost. Nice, heavy-weight polar fleece (or the equivalent), which is doubled at the face mask-- or tripled around the neck if you don't raise the mask-- with a hoodie-style hood with draw string. Tucks into any sweatshirt to turn it into a hoodie, which I like. This is truly a great product. The fabric is soft and comfortable. It fits nicely for any size head. The draw strings allow for a fit snug to your head.Overall, this product kept me dry, comfortable, out of the elements, and feeling warm all day. It does exactly what it is meant to do.

Great product.
Great fit, held out the cold. The toggles are a bit awkward dangling about but can live with it.

Brilliant, nice and snug, very warm
I love this balaclava it keeps my face super warm and it got here just in the nick of time as a serious cold front is coming into Ireland now. This was put on under a warm jacket with another big hood and I felt like I was still in my bed I was so warm and comfy. I felt like I had my own little shelter for my head to hide in haha. It just feels really nice wearing this. Why didnt I buy this sooner?

Vital on Mt. Kenya!
I relied on this when I recently climbed Mt Kenya. I can tell you that at the top - around 5000 meters up - it's very cold. I used this fleece to keep my head warm when sleeping in a tent at various staging camps on the climb up and I wore it on the summit whilst watching the sun rise over the equator. With a strong wind blowing and very low air temperatures as well I found this fleece hood invaluable. I particularly liked the way that the hood projects in front of your eyes so that your face gets some protection from the wind whilst giving you good visibility. It's a bit of kit I am glad I took climbing and I wouldn't go without it in future.
