Needs to be spaced out from the wall for the lid to open
The first box turned up missing the flap hinge, second one was sent the next day, fitted the replacement box but had to pack it out from the wall with washers as the design will not let you open the lid to its full extent even with the plastic gromets/spacers suplied, the back of the lid hit the the brick work, poor design to be honest but the rest all seems to be ok

Not weatherproof
The large lid is to light and flies up in even moderate gusts of wind, allowing rain into the box.During the first windy night the lid blew off completely the long pin which runs the full lengthof the lid backed out as it was not fixed in position. Fortunately I was able to find the lid and pinand pinch it secure. I most now attach some weight to the lid without drilling holes in it.The box faces S E and the lid lifts in the prevailing winds. Its a design flaw and cals for a heavier lid or spring loaded lid.I also had to bring the key to a locksmith as it was a poor fit and copious jiggling to open the box

The LOCK failed! Postbox can't be used.
DON'T BUY THIS ITEM!!!We don't receive a lot of post... But within 2 months, the key & lock started giving trouble. They didn't quite "fit" from the start. The postbox said it was weatherproof and the postbox his fairly well protected in its location. So we suspect this is a quality issue with the lock. Yesterday the key complete jammed and then snapped in the lock. So we now have a postbox we can't use! And with only a 30 day replacement option, we have no option to replace it. No refund, no replacement. I would not recommend this item.

Cheap thin metal
Having had a brabantia post box for many year when it finally came time to change it I wanted the same, but they don’t sell them anymore. So went for this brand. Disappointed. Looks cheap and the metal is thin. Don’t think it will last. The most annoying thing is the flap keep blowing open with he wind!! Something my other one never did and it’s in the same place so goes to show how thin and light the metal is.It’s so much hassle returning this due to size etc I think I will have to live with it. Am going to put magnets in to try and solve the flap issue. So the long and short of it is I wouldn’t buy it again

Really good looking and easy to fix BUT needs spacing from wall
Very pleased but with box, but earlier comments about needing to space from the wall are quite correct; a couple of tap washers per screw and some longer screws easily fixes thing. Also if you have a brick wall, you may want to put some small rubber bumpers on the top to avoid it getting scratched as it will hit the wall every time you open it.Both are tiny things and it's disappointing the manufacturers haven't picked up on these and include some plastic or rubber spacers and bumpers - they will cost next to nothing.

Mine is not weatherproof the rubbers are tight
The holes were exactly the same as the previous one which was a different shape, so fixing was very easy. The rubber seals/ spacers fitted well. However after the first rain, water was in the bottom (it has drain holes in) and had not drained out, the post was wet. Obviously not weatherproof or why would there be drain holes. This is very disappointing. The water marks were down the front door and also from the lock hole. I fitted a wire mesh base to keep the post off the bottom. Will see how it goes. Can not get a spare key cut at any key cutter! Rang their number they want £18.50 for min 2 keys

Some issues with this. Definitely not worth the money.
At first glance this box appears sturdier than it actually is. When I unpacked it one of the hinges had fallen off due to a failed spot weld, and the so called “windows” were made of obscure material making them useless for their intended purpose. I would not recommend buying this for the price and would look to pay no more than £17 or £18 even if it wasn’t broken.

Keeps the dog calmer good quality box
This was installed to try and stop the dog going mad when the letter box was used. It’s a good quality item, the screws supplied with it are weak and shredded with a cordless driver so be careful when screwing it in. I changed the screws for proper ones and it does the job and the dog is much calmer now.
