Springfield 1903 A3 Front Sight Cover.

Fits onto rifle well.

Fits perfectly on my 1903a3. They are TIGHT, but, they were designed this way. You can still get an appropriate sight picture with it installed, however, this isn’t the USMC version. The USMC hood has a larger hood area.It is covered in thick, hard cosmoline. I used my small heat gun to loosen the cosmoline, and it wiped right off( be careful as the hood got very hot).

The sight cover was an original at a decent pricethat enhanced my collection. The vendor delivered in a very short period of time.

Fit perfectly. Doesn’t instruct view as bad as people have said but I have the lowest front sight post. Shipped even during the quarantine!

Really a nice addition to the 03-A3 Springfield.Obviously it was coated in cosmoline , but after wiping it down there was not ANY rust & the spring tension made it a new permanent addition.

When installed the guard is not centered over the sight blade pretty much making it worthless for anything other than a "looks cool" thingee for the rifle hanging on the rack.

Packed with cosmalene but, once that's cleaned off, it's exactly what I was looking for to protect my 03-A3's front sight blade. Hard to argue the $9 price tag. Aids in sighting in too, in my opinion.
