This would almost be a perfect set of fireplace tools if it weren't for the tongs. These tongs are the old traditional type where there's two handles and you pick things up by clasping it, much like large bush scissors. While they work, it's sort of tricky to flip logs or anything with it. I'd much prefer a single-handed pair of long tongs, much easier to control.Aside from that, the quality is pretty great, solid iron. Still definitely worth the money.

We moved into our new home with an actual wood burning fireplace. No more flicking a switch for us. ;^)So we needed fireplace tools. We looked locally and found either flimsy lightweight tools or extremely overpriced show pieces that no one would stick in a fire. We decided to try one last fireplace store in our area. So in the days of Covid we called to see if they were open or we needed an appointment or some such non-sense. We were asked what we wnated/needed and told them we were looking for tools. Her answer stunned us both. "We don't keep any in stock. I can give you links to look on-line." Well if I am looking on line, why wouldn't I buy on-line? And people wonder why some brick and mortat staores go out of business. Anyway...We looked here and gambeld on this set and are very satisfied. They are very sturdy and give you confidence when moving logs around. The holder has lips on the end to make sure the tools don't fall off after use. No complaints at all.

... and left the rest (the former owners) and there's just no fire game without the tongs. This is a sturdy set and I'm very happy with it.

The media could not be loaded. These are definitely high quality! They are sturdy and a very good size. They fit great next to our fireplace. Comes ready out of the box- no assembly needed.

Just be aware that these tools are painted black, and if you are moving hot coals around in the fireplace the paint won’t last long. BUT they are fireplace tools, and not for show, so that’s not a big deal. They work great!

It was packaged nicely and was easy to assemble. It looks nice by the fireplace.

These are built heavy. The length is perfect for using with my wood stove. I had read some reviews that had problems with the handles not screwing on tight but I had no issues. Great for the price.

Heavy, nice and tough. I always put a drop of Lock-tite when assembling and it's good for life.
