Nice MMDVM_HS_HAT board for your next hotspot project. Works great with WPSD right out of the box!
I used the MMDVM Hotspot Board (V1.5.2) with a Raspberry Pi 3B+ board and have been very pleased with it. I am using WPSD for the first time and it recognized the board as "MMDVM_HS_HAT-v1.5.2" when I selected the hardware option as "MMDVM_HS_HAT (DBM9MAT & DF2ET) for Pi GPIO". The WPSD software was easy to configure and it was not necessary to update the board to firmware v1.6.1 to get full functionality. The LCD screen is very clear and easy to read and the LCD screen responded perfectly to all the WPSD software settings that control it. I would highly recommend this MMDVM board for anyone looking for a well designed and high quality board that is very compatible with the latest software. It is stable with very low BER and has run reliably for me from day one. Highly recommended!

Good product
Got my hotspot running first try. Radio was a pain to program until I got the hang of it. Have already made multiple contacts and really put this through its paces. Used for a couple months but only time will tell about longevity. Would recommend buying a hotspot like this with pins already attached. Connected easily to raspberry pi 4b and will also for a zero with same pins. Very versatile. Small but powerful.

I highly recommend these modems!
I've been building hotspots for myself & others for almost 5 years now. If you are wanting to set up a hotspot on a budget, these modems cannot be beat. ZUMspot boards can no longer be bought by themselves (must be purchased as a complete unit), and the LoneStar boards are often out of stock via that vendor. These units work just as well at almost half the price, and come ready to operate with no offset correction needed. I've purchased numerous models with the OLED already attached, and they also sell a version with no display at all (you use those for building a larger hotspot that have Nextion LCD display screens). I've only ever had ONE unit show up bad from Aursinc, and they processed an exchange for me in less than 24 hours.

works great vhf/uhf but really no instructions
If you have made a hotspot before, and know the steps, this will work great for you. If your new, the lack of directions will, may be intimidating and even frustrating. Now with that said, its a quality made board , no bad solder joints, worked in vhf, uhf for me. (I did put a different antenna on for vhf) it comes with a small display installed on it, you can add a nextion display as I did, a little high in price but the fact that it works great (if you don't need instructions) means it was worth the price to me. Note: if you use this with a usb hat instead of a raspberry pi, you need to know that bluedv will not activate the display as the bluedv software puts a "display" on your pc screen. I did run it in dstar and fusion, but im sure all the advertised modes work. enjoy ! Doug
