Pogoplug Series 4 Backup Device [Newest Version]

UpdateWorking perfectly with arch Linux and Samba in it. Also their default sharing is working. Customers care fixed my problems with online account======= old =======First of all , their site doesn't work, the message I got is to purchase a subscription . Even android app shows a 15 days period to upgrade to premium. Tried to contact via email & twitter, but still no reply.But got it working for me with alternate firmware

Good. Had to reformat this and install samba FS. Outdated

I have used it over a month now and am using it as a portable NAS for my home network. I have installed the samba and ftp client on it and it is available on cloud. Could not have asked for more.

Brilliant device. I put Arch Linux on it and made my own little always-on torrent downloader. The onboard memory is a bit low at 128 MB, but you can get around it by using a flash drive as swap.

less then average product. at least after the first month want they you to pay for everything. once the trial period ends, you can't even stream video in your home network with the pogoplug cast app. if you do mass download or upload via wifi it tend to crash which is not great if you use the pogoplug as your personal backup.on a positive note, you can acces your home back up from anywhere as long as you have internet. you can connect usb 3.0 devices, sd card even an sata hard drive on it which is nice. the pogoplug app is good. the pogoplug cast app is great read almost all video codec is fast, light. then it become crappy cause you can use it after the trial period without paying on your own home network which to me does not make any sense.

Doesn't work as expected... doesn't act like a real file share... have to go through a gui to set everthing up.I was expecting more like drive sharing like from Windows... I couldn't even successfully browse to movies i wanted to see from my WD LIVE TV box....I'll give it another try, as it has been unplugged since I got it.... but my hopes aren't high....

Great product which could, however, be improved. Few things like transfers from one disk to another have to be done via the website, which is a bit strange... But still, the product is great and does what it is supposed to do ! Definitly a good alternative to a NAS !Awesome seller, highly recommended !

Works right outta the box. Just plug it into your router. Go to their website to register. And you are on your way. Worked with all the drives I plugged into it.Highly recommend.
