Browne-Halco CBMP1 Stainless Steel Bain Marie Pot Cover, 5-Inch

I boil an egg every morning but the small Lodge pot I use didn't have a lid. This lid fit onto the pot perfectly, but because it extends down INTO the pot, I couldn't fit the egg inside with the lid on. So I turned the lid upside down and attached a drawer knob with a stainless-steel screw and now I have a lid that works.

I certainly would have rated higher, except that the handle is level with the lid, making it difficult to lift it off the pan. Even more difficult if using a pot holder. Also, there is a small "dome" on the underside of the lid. It hit my egg yolk, breaking it. I wanted it sunny side up.

I needed a 5" pan cover and this was the only one I could find. I got it and found that it had a bulge which hit the bottom of the one egg fry pan I wanted it for. Thinking outside the box, I removed the handle and drilled a hole in the center. I installed a cabinet knob in the hole with the cover being upside down. It is just what I needed with some modifications.

I use this lid to cover my tiny butter-warming pots,4-inch in diameter or smaller. My only wish was it would have an external lid handle rather than its concave handle design. As is, it often touches the warming butter in the interior. Nevertheless, its the best of three different lids i purchased for this purpose….m

1" is too much for depth. I cannot even fry an egg or hamburger and use the top.

The lid fits my small 5 inch skillet, which I only use to cook eggs. The lid does dip down in the center. So far it has not been problem for me.

Pleased with the item overall because I needed a small lid for my very small pot. I just wish the handle design wasn’t so awkward. I’m just careful with it.

Why the huge hump going into the pan instead of sitting on top.Poor design. Surprised it was not highlighted by the commercialization/product manager.
