A great product
This is a great way to bake dog bones. It does take a while but they come out perfectly shaped. Once my dog found out what I was doing she was sitting in front of the counter waiting till they were done. I read some reviews of this being messy but my mix was on the thicker side and I filled the bones like the instructions said and it didn't ooze over or stick. It was easy to clean up, just wiped it out with a cloth. They are fun to make and if you are doing something else in the kitchen you won't notice that it takes about 10 or 11 minutes to bake 4 bones. It took me about an hour to make them all. I put the finished bones in the oven like the instruction said if you want a crisper bone. Once baked you can use them as they come out of the bake-a-bone. There have been so many recalls on pet treats that I feel if I make these I know what my dog is getting.

The dogs and I love this. It has gotten to the point that when the alarm on the stove goes off they coming running. Yes I would agree with the other comments that this is not "professional" but it was a BIG hit at Christmas. I have 5 dogs and 6 doggie nephews and they all loved the treats. I have baked the Parmesian Herb and the Chessy Bones and the recipes are very tasty; yes I tried their dog bones. I used a gulten/grain free flour and almond milk. Yes, it is slow cooking only 4 bones at a time at 10 min cook cycle and both recipes yielded about 26 bones each. They looked professional enough that my friends on Facebook had good comments. If you like to cook for your fur children, I highly recommend this. My niece has already her boy one and they love theirs too. I have used this 3 times now with no problems.

Diesel loves this!
I purchased this for Diesel so I could prepare him some goodies at home. This gave me the opportunity to make him some wholesome treats with all his favorite ingredients. He loves the smell of fresh cookies cooking just for him. This treat maker also came with a little booklet of recipes which I have tried and they are all great. Since you know exactly what you are putting into the treats, it's a healthy alternative for your fur-baby! I have even tried them and some are not that bad. I would not go as far as making myself a batch, but they are good to the human taste buds as well! Your fur-baby will love the treats!I like to make him some while I am making treats for myself so we can enjoy treat time together!

VERY DISAPPOINTED - Did not turn out as described
I'm Jen, and I purchased the Bake-A-Bone after reading all of the positive reviews on this item, how great the item worked and how much everyone's pups loved the treat. Well mine arrived and I used it for the first time. WHAT A DISASTER IT WAS!!! I made the recipe exactly as outlined in the directions, and I filled the bottom tray only, and IT was not over filled. I reiterate, IT WAS NOT OVERFILLED. When I closed the lid and set my timer based on the baking time of the recipe, the bones were completely burnt, and stuck to the tray. I then unplugged the item, let it cool completely, and cleaned it all out. Once it was ready to go, I tried it again, heated up the item, and baked the dog bones, on half the time it suggested for baking. After I opened the item up, the bones were still burnt, but nearly as bad as the first batch, and was much easier to clean. This has been a HUGE disappointment. So I got on line to initiate a return, only to see the seller does not offer returns. That is my fault as I guess I didn't see that returns are not accepted. Now I am stuck with a BAKE-A-BONE that I will probably never use again. Has anyone else had this experience with Burn-A- Bone......

Works well, wish it bake more than 4 bones at a time...
Works really well and the recipes are loved by all three of my dogs. I give 4 stars only because it makes 4 bones in a single batch, which takes 8 min to bake. Given each recipe makes somewhere between 25-30 bones, making dog treats takes an hour and a half plus. So not an efficient use of time.

love it!
although, i wish it baked more than 4 at a time, it's just great. The only problem is these treats are so good that the dogs are not happy eating anything else, including just real chicken and rice. But, I fill them with apple, chicken, cheddar cheese and other healthy stuff and it turns into a meal in a bone. The little dogs don't like hard treats, but if you microwave them for 30 seconds, they do get a little crunchy and they still can't wait to eat them. I make a batch and freeze them. Then take them out one at a time. Have given bags of them to all my friends and their dogs are obsessed with them too. You can change up the ingredients to make them different all the time. I call it doggie crack treats...they just can't get enough of them. And, it's kind of fun coming up with new ingredients, pumpkin, apple, pear, veggies, etc.

recipes are great and easy
Works well, recipes are great and easy. The dogs love the treats! Have been using is now for 2 months going on 3 and I use it weekly, now it seems as if the not stick surface isn't so non stick anymore. The bones are starting to stick and I can see small areas where the coating is getting scratched due to the bones sticking . Cleaning the unit has never been easy. I hope they come out with a new design where the plates can come out for easier cleaning and they improve the non stick coating.
