Is this made from real silk or faux silk?

From what I can tell it’s real, but to be honest I’m not exactly a pro when it comes to fabrics :/

what is the difference between black and a black- 2?

Black 1 is solid black. Black 2 is black with a little gray, like a dark gray. Both are beautiful! It comes down to preference. I keep my fan in my purse and is very useful to keep the sun out of my face. Take care of your skin!

How do you get the fan to stay open?

You may be opening it the wrong way, otherwise you have a defective fan. Mine used to stay open
