It's plastic, but also very pretty
Melamine is a very fancy word for hard plastic. I could not find a ceramic tray with lemons to replace one I previously had and this was as close as I could get. It's very pretty and will last quite awhile.

Beautiful!
This is my go-to serving piece. It is perfect for a side salad, grilled vegetables, dessert or an array of cheeses. It is stunningly beautiful, light weight and can be used indoors and out. The colors are brilliant and last forever. This is my second square platter from this company. Excellent!

Top Quality Melamine
This is the most beautiful and well made melamine I’ve seen. Can be mistaken for ceramic but without the weight and fear of breaking. I love this Palermo pattern and I’m adding to the matching dinnerware.

It is made of a heavy plastic. Design is very nice. Coordinates well with my other lemon serving bowls for a beautiful table.

Cute plate
Having been to Sorento, Italy, where this lemon design originates, and where I purchased a few plates, know that this wasn't made in Sorento, and isn't a particularly "fine" design. The color is vibrant, but the details are a bit blurred. I don't mean it was slapped on - I suppose they use a thin film-filament to attach the design to a plain white plate. It could be done with a finer eye to detail, but overall it's good, considering the inexpensive price.

Attractive and substantial weight
Really attractive and love the square shape - bought this and some of the other matching trays for summer outdoor serving. Think they will be in constant use!
