Getting your moneys worth
Great lens
A**A
it makes your M50 worth to keep, it over delivers for astrophotography.
These shots have no processing done at all, this lens produces a lot of background blur and i love it, also, my astrophotography capabilities have increased a lot with this lens, again, i have not done anything to these photos, the lens managed to gather that much light in the milkyway shot, it is a game changer. Focus is good Picture quality for astro is great (not considering the aperture) but i saw some red shifting or red defects showing up on some stars when i began to enhance them, so it isn't perfect, i have a Sigma 17-50 F2.8 that does not produce this defect but i'll take the extra light tyvm. Picture quality in everyday objects and people is very very good, as good as it gets at this price. Weight is ok, i did balance the camera with thi lens on a 2kg rated gimbal. This lens is worth buying if you have nothing as wide and as bright, i repeat, i already own a 17-50 mm f2.8 from Sigma, and this lens is soooo unique that i woudln't think that the 17mm will do good enough to not buy this lens. The camera i used is a Canon M50 at 10 secons with iso at 800 - 1250 for the milkyway shots, on a very clear night. According to my expectations, this lens over delivered for astrophotography.

Fantastic lens
This is a fantastic lens. You will be very pleased with it. It has been a joy to use for video and photography. The results speak for themselves. My only reservation was price, and it has provided much more value than I expected. The lens is not perfect for every shot, but when you can use it, you will be so impressed. About my only warning is that it has an extremely distinct “look” to it. It’s not necessarily very true to life, in some ways. So while you will get astonishing photos, just keep in mind that they will be somewhat stylized by the lens. With that being said, I think the signature of the lens is awesome. I find the photos incredible. I only wish I had a longer focal length one.

Took beautiful photos
Great lens for the price! I’ve absolutely loved it so far. I’ve taken some really fun beautiful photos with it and can’t wait to keep working at it! Would definitely recommend as a beginner photographer lens. Took all of the posted photos with it. Seems to take a second to focus well so not great with faster moving objects (like kids).

Excellent lens, but Large
This Sigma lens produces really nice photos, especially in low light. But it is a really large and heavy lens and I quickly realized that I probably would not reach for it often so I did return it and opted instead for the Canon EF-M 22 mm 2.0 which while not as wide or as fast also produces beautiful photos and adds so little size and weight to my Canon M50 that I know I will reach for it often. If the size isn't an issue for you, do NOT hesitate to grab this really nice lens. I also got a very nice deal by purchasing a used lens and it was in perfect, like new, in the box condition.

Nice!
Love the early receiving again with standard shipping. Crossed my wish list for this one. Cant ignore the quality on this similar to the 56mm. 2nd purchase from the same seller may buy again to complete a set with the 30mm remaining.

Good wide angle lense for most photodhoot
The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens is a wide-angle prime lens designed for APS-C format mirrorless cameras, including the Canon EF-M mount. It's part of Sigma's "Contemporary" line, which aims to balance image quality and compact size. Here's a review based on available information: Key Features and Specifications: * Focal Length: 16mm (equivalent to 25.6mm on Canon EF-M APS-C sensors) * Maximum Aperture: f/1.4 - This bright aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field. * Lens Construction: 16 elements in 13 groups, including SLD and FLD elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and aspherical elements to control distortion and spherical aberrations. * Autofocus: Stepping motor for quick, quiet, and smooth autofocus, suitable for both stills and video. * Minimum Focusing Distance: 25cm (9.8 inches) * Maximum Magnification Ratio: 1:9.9 * Filter Size: 67mm * Number of Diaphragm Blades: 9, rounded for smooth bokeh. * Build Quality: Dust and splash-resistant construction with a brass bayonet mount for durability. * Weight: Approximately 405g for the Canon EF-M mount. Pros: * Excellent Sharpness: Reviews consistently praise the lens for its sharpness, even wide open at f/1.4, with good edge-to-edge performance. Stopping down slightly further enhances clarity. * Bright Aperture: The f/1.4 aperture is a significant advantage for low-light photography and videography, allowing for lower ISO settings and more light gathering. It also provides pleasing bokeh (background blur) for subject isolation. * Wide Angle of View: The 16mm focal length (25.6mm equivalent) is versatile for various applications, including landscapes, street photography, vlogging, and astrophotography. * Good Control of Aberrations: The lens design effectively minimizes chromatic aberration, distortion, and coma, contributing to clean and high-quality images. * Smooth Bokeh: The rounded 9-blade diaphragm helps create smooth and natural-looking out-of-focus areas. * Fast and Quiet Autofocus: The stepping motor delivers quick and silent autofocus, which is beneficial for both still shooting and video recording. * Solid Build Quality: The lens feels well-made and durable, with dust and splash resistance offering added confidence in various shooting conditions. * Relatively Affordable: Compared to similar lenses, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary offers excellent performance at a competitive price point. Cons: * Size: While part of the "Contemporary" line, it's noted to be a bit larger than some other APS-C prime lenses. * No Optical Stabilization: The lens does not feature built-in optical image stabilization. However, given the wide focal length and bright aperture, this is often less of an issue, especially on cameras with in-body image stabilization (IBIS), though Canon EF-M bodies do not have IBIS.
