I just started reading this and am only on page 17 and found this…I am nervous about how the rest is going to go 😝

This book has given me more in depth information about the expectations of the portfolio entries and the assessment exercises than I have gotten from any other book I have purchased. The book breaks everything down and is easily understood. I've not read anything else that has helped me with the reading assessment as much as this book. It actually talks in depth about all of the different types of readers and the many problems that readers might have.The social studies section has given me ideas of what to focus on for my video taped lesson. I also gained lots of vital information for the social studies assessment. I was also struggling with ideas for the integrating the arts assessment. The book goes into great detail about how to answer these questions.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK UNLESS A REVISED EDITION IS OFFERED!I was reluctant to purchase a study guide for this exam, knowing that the exam was recently revised, so I read the reviews about this book and saw that it had a terrific review from January of this year. When the book arrived, I checked the copyright date and it said "Copyright 2016" on the first page, so between the recent review and the current copyright date, I had faith that this guide would align with the revised assessment. Unfortunately, I found out a little too late (at the assessment center the day of my test) that the book only covered HALF of the material that was on the test, and I needlessly studied material in the guide that was not on the test.That being said, the book was well-written and very thorough. If an updated edition is published, I would highly recommend it.

I have just started the certification process and love, love, love both the flashcards and the Study Guide!! I already feel more confident and I just got them!! I have only briefly looked at the Study Guide but again my test anxiety is going way down!! I am a veteran teacher of 29 years and I would highly recommend these products to anyone taking this journey! I know I am going to share these products at my classes !!

The description of this item does not say anywhere that it is Part 1 of 2. In fact all of the photos state it covers all areas of the exam. Of course, I didn't realize this until talking with someone else who was prepping for the same test and they said something about practice questions. I look at the description of what I bought and it says the same thing. Super disappointed that I was taken advantage of and now have no way of getting the correct materials in time or a refund.

The test prep has made me aware of many strategies that I can even use in my classroom. It has also made me aware of how I jump to conclusion and do not always read carefully to get to the correct answer.

I like how it goes into all of the information I will need to know for the test.
