Does what I need it to.
I have small kids, so my concern is not so much someone breaking into the safe, as it is a kid finding it and playing with it. It is not the strongest locking mechanism - it could probably be forced open with a pry bar and some force. But the Wi-Fi is excellent. It sends immediate notifications to my phone when it is touched, moved, opened, or closed. And you can see the current status in real time. One tip - turn off notifications for Wi-Fi connectivity. Ever single day around 11:30am it disconnects for about 2 minutes. Because of the regularity of this, I suspect it is some sort of self check. If you want a vault that will never be broken into, this is not for you. If you want a secure location with good Wi-Fi capabilities, this is the best value out there.

Poor quality, horrible customer service
The safe feels solid and the wi fi feature is nice but seems to disconnect and reconnect often. Drains the batteries as well and we had to replace multiple them monthly. But then all of a sudden the safe would not open. Code didn’t work and even the key didn’t work. We tried both and seems the latch was defective. Called Night owl at least 4 times. Very bad English and said they would email us. They basically said fill out a form for a new key which was clearly not the problem . Oh and if we wanted a new key there was paperwork that needed to be signed off by a notary so don’t lose you key!! Anyway they didn’t understand so we called again and again and they were clueless. We broke out the crowbar and in 2 seconds we were inside. Which was scary it was that easy to get inside as it should have required a little muscle. My 10 year old could have easily broke in. Needless to say it was easily returned to Costco as a worthless product and we learned a valuable lesson - don’t buy Night owl and Costco is amazing!

DO NOT BUY! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! ZERO STARS
To begin with it loses its internet connection several times a day and sends you alert to the app every time which is annoying. It was sitting 5 feet from the router. The safe eventually malfunctioned after a month of very light use. I called to get a replacement key to open it sat on hold for several HOURS, several different times, listening to way to loud piano hold music, only to be hung up on and passed to other customers service reps that wouldn't help. They stated "problems with the computer system, problems with the warehouse, couldn't find an email." Had me email in pictures of the safe and serial number etc. Only to tell me they had no replacement keys anywhere. I made at least 15 calls and traded over 20 emails, only to not be helped. Asked for a supervisor and they put you me hold for an hour until someone picked up and it made a really loud sound and disconnected me, twice this happened. Finally reached a supervisor named Elvis that told me he couldn't help and HUNG up on me. I also tried their online help chat function, another huge waste of time as no one answered it. There is also a language barrier with the customer service personal, as i assume english is not their first language. Pick another brand and save yourself the trouble.

Awesome Quality for the Price
I love my Safe because of the features and simplicity of the application. It looks great on my Iphone. The safe isn't perfect, but it doesn't what it needs to. The batteries do drain like they are intended, needing replacement, but the safe still works. I personally use it for small items, however, it's proven best for my medication. Keeping it away from Pets and making sure my roommates did not know about it. I hope this helps you purchase!

Not so Smart!! Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Safe with Real-Time Notifications does not work.
I purchased this Smart safe from Night Owl on line Website, during the first few months, I have to charge the battery every few weeks, contacted Night Owl Support, no help at all, during this past few months lost the WiFi connection to the safe and unable to reconnect. tried few time to fix the connection, even contacted Night Owl Support, NO USE. file a warranty clam and received a replacement same problem like the first safe unable to add the device / safe to the APP. tried many time no use.THIS IS NOT A SMART SAFE, JUST ANOTHER PUSH BUTTON SAFE!!!!THE APP IS USELESS, NIGHT OWL NEED TO FIX THE APP!!!!

Terrible costumer service
I loved it as a basic safe/lockbox pretty cool but when it came to setting it up I was having difficulties. setting it up looked very simple but it kept saying unable to connect. After looking everyone for trouble shooting tips online and nothing helped so I called technical support. RUDE AS HELL, would not give his name, kept pretending he couldn’t hear me and he was mumbling his words, then put me on mute for 5 min so I would hang up, came back rude again so I asked to speak to the supervisor and he muted me again for 10min then came back and pretended like I didn’t ask for a supervisor he just said “is the device you need help with in front of you?” I responded with “Iasked to speak to the supervisor “ he then muted me again for 5mins then hung up. I was on the phone for 35-40mins just to be hung up on! I’m VERY UPSET.
