Katy Sue Zip vs. Marvelous Molds Zipper
I thought it might be good to compare these 2 because I couldn't decide, so maybe this will help you. I also have usage tips below.FYI, I used a mix of modeling chocolate, tylose powder, and Massa Ticino fondant. The make-up bag photo is the MM zipper with the KS toggle:Katy Sue:This zipper is smaller and more delicate, which is both a plus and a minus. It would look more elegant on the cake, and I think it's probably big enough for most items, but it's significantly more temperamental. If you're a newbie to fondant molds, this is a hard one because of all the tiny teeth and the length/width ratio. It took quite a bit of work and pushing to get into all the nooks and crannies, so if you have difficulty with you hands (such as arthritis), this is not for you. It's open at one end, which looks really cute, but it isn't a big enough gap to be "revealing contents" if you're doing something like a make-up bag, so that makes it a little awkward for my use. You could easily just start your zipper at the closed section and not use the open section, but then you've got a really short segment for your project. There are 2 toggle options, which I really like, so you can go traditional or more decorative. This is 1/3 of the price (BIG bonus in my book). If you know Katy Sue products already, it's on par with their good quality. Thank you, Katy Sue!!Marvelous Molds:This is a bigger, chunkier mold. Consequently, it's much more forgiving and easier to work with. If you're not comfortable with molds or have dexterity issues, this is the mold for you.Because it's longer, it's more versatile. You can technically cut it down the middle and carve between the teeth, to create an open zipper, because the teeth are just rectangular, but it is incredibly tedious - 30 minutes and about 2 inches in, I abandoned ship. The toggle pull is really big - great if you're doing a bigger piece, but it's not scalable for smaller items. I ended up using the KS toggle on the MM zipper for my make-up bag (see photo). It's SO expensive! Marvelous Molds is consistently excellent quality, and I have a lot of their molds now, but I quail at paying for them every time. It's wider, so more versatile, because you can trim it down or use the whole width, as I did. The 2 rows of stitching on either side are a nice touch.Tips for use:-Use a very pliable paste/fondant/chocolate - otherwise you'll never get into all the tiny teeth.-Push, push, push way longer than you'd think you have to, so you get every detail.-Pop it in the freezer for 10ish minutes before removing from the mold(s).-Carefully pull back the sides of the mold, while leaving the fondant in place. This eliminates as much friction/grip as possible before you actually start removing.-Flip it over onto a table. PUSH the fondant out of the mold from the back of the mold, while slowly peeling the mold away - this way you won't stretch or break your piece.-Go slowly and and patiently.-Some people like to use a dusting cornstarch in molds first, to prevent sticking. I find that it's not necessary for me, but it might help you.Good luck! :)

Great to help with shaping and to pull up leaves.
I used a peony cutter and then put in the mat to help give better shape and texture to my flower. First time (orange flower on cake) not the best but it looks nice on top of the cake. I’d recommend for sure.

Great Product
I ordered this for someone who wanted an Alice and Wonderland themed cupcakes. I knew in the beginning of the movie, she goes through a lot of doors and thought the idea of it was adorable. So i got this and luster dust to make the items. I couldn't wait to try it out so i did this morning. After a bit of trial and error, i got it to work. Looked up some videos and figured it out.Overall i give this a 4 out 5 stars only due to the nature of the key is hard to get done. The locks are fairly simple in molding them but the key i have had issues with. Finally i found if you roll the fondant into a long log rather thick, and press it in the top of the key where the notchs are and work your way down to the handle it works a lot easier. Also CORNSTARCH is your best friend. I keep applying it to my fingers and as i pressed it in to the mold and found it stuck better in that and not on my hands. The mold itself is very easy to get the product out of and stays in place on the counter.I found it was steep for the price of it but do like that it easy to use for the most part. Worth the money for the idea i am doing, but wouldn't have spent it on myself.

Great Detail!
I used this with marshmallow fondant for my nephew's birthday cake. I love all the little details that this mold adds. I brushed a light layer of cocoa powder inside the mold before adding the marshmallow fondant and I love the way it turned out!

This is a copy of the original Katy Sue
I am not sure why it is advertised as Katy Sue. It is not. The product does not have labels and is not the same quality as the original. It comes with no branded paper and Katy Sue brand has been removed from the tab.The product posting is misleading. I thought I was getting an original product. I wonder if it is licensed or just copied. Amazon should review with Katy Sue.

Great little mould, worked extremely well, with the fondant I used.Either corn starch it or lightly grease before hand. Take your time........is my advice in using these moulds. Would recommend 😊

Usual Katy sue quality
Used on the handbag topper in the picture. The usual Katy Sue quality mould that always delivers on detail. You do need quality fondant as cheaper types would not work as well. I used Karen Davies fondant which is always my go to.
