This is a Laser Device don't point it at the eyes of anything.
This is easy to use the relective tape helps monitor the revolutions. Because I was measuring revs. of a oilly shaft I cleaned the surface and used a chalk mark. The reading were satisfactory

Not Verry Accurate
Not sure what I expected for the price. Wanted an RPM meter for my lathe, mill, and CNC. Spindel speed set for 12000, meter reads close to 14000, set to 6000, meter reads 7500.

Don't give up on your first try.
At first I couldn't get any readings and wondered if the item was inoperable. After several tries it started responding. it seemed that reduced ambient light was important. I had to create significant shade to get any response at all, and even so, it took more than one try to get it to settle on a number reading that made sense. In the end I was satisfied with an accurate reading. What is lacking here is more detailed instructions in order to rule out factors that could prevent quick and accurate results. Maybe something isn't right with my unit?? I could not get the memory function to work at all?

Just stick the reflective tape on the rotating piece and read the RPM

Ce tachomètre m'a été très utile pour calibrer et synchroniser la vitesse de rotation des hélices de mes deux moteurs d'avion téléguidé. De plus, il permet d'ajuster précisément la poussée différentielle (differential thrust) de chaque moteur. Je vous recommande d'installer un autocollant réfléchissant sur l'extrémité du disque en rotation à mesurer pour obtenir une lecture de RPM dès plus précise.
