Works as described
As other reviewers suggested, the pilot light could be a bit brighter. However, it is adequate. I found it very easy to wire. Line, load, neutral and you are done. Perhaps the trouble some folks have is they don’t have a neutral in the switch box? Often times in existing wiring there is a line and a switched leg, black and white, with no neutral. Just sayin’.

Just what I needed
When we upgraded our master suite, we ended up with the switch for the closet lights on the other side of an armoire. We quickly realized that we could easily leave the closet lights on. This switch was just what we needed to remind us to shut off the lights before we leave the room.

Check your wiring carefully
Working as advertised, just sorting out the contractors wiring for correct hook up. Great indicator for that garage light that keeps getting left on

Great for controlling lights in another area, like attic
The switch that controls our attic lights is located in the hallway, so you cannot see if the lights are on from there. I recently installed high-wattage LED lights in there and while they are energy-efficient, they still pull over 150 watts total. It's very easy to forget to turn them off and if that happens they could get left on for days, months, or more. This switch solved that problem and was perfect because it matches our decora rocker switches perfectly. That is something that had been hard to find. It looks beautiful and the switch itself is very high-quality. It can control loads up to 20A.Installation was very easy and the instructions were clear and straight-forward. It does require a neutral, so if your box doesn't have one you will not be able to use this switch and get the indicator light to work. The terminals on the switch are color-coded:Black=HOT or LINE (this is the wire that has power.)BRASS=LOAD (this is the wire that goes to the light or device you want to control.)SILVER=NEUTRAL (this connects to the neutral wires that are typically wire-nutted together in the box; just use a short piece of wire of the same gauge as those in the box.)GREEN=GROUND (this is the bare copper wire.)I highly recommend this switch for anyone who has decora style switches and needs to know if lights or other devices in a remote location are ON or OFF.

Great when switch is outside enclosed room
We used this pilot light switch for both the attic and furnace room so there was an indicator when we'd left the light on. Works great!

Must know basic wiring to install correctly or it will be a problem to install
Switch does exactly as it is described. The pilot light should be an led instead of a red orange light. When you open up the junction box, there will usually be two wires to the switch with one hot or line and the other going to the light or motor controlled by the switch. When you install the switch you need to identify the line wire and find a neutral wire. Wire to the switch as indicated. If the pilot light is on but the switch controlled light is not or the circuit breaker trips, it is not wired correctly. So find the hot wire before you turn off the power to the branch circuit and mark it. If there is no neutral in the junction box, you will have to find one on the same branch circuit upstream from that junction box.

Light illuminates the entire switch
What bothers me about this switch is that the indicator light illuminates the entire white plastic cover. I took this picture when it started to get darker outside, but this issue is way more noticeable in a pitch-black room.Other than that the switch looks nice, feels nice, and it does its job.

Exactly what I needed
Couldn’t find a Decora switch with pilot light in the stores and came across this on Amazon. Exactly what I needed for a porch ceiling fan that I always forgot to turn off and so it would run all night. The subtle red light on the switch (glows when fan is on) reminds me to turn it off. Be aware that if replacing a single pole switch, you will need a neutral (white wire) in your device box, in addition to the two wires on the existing switch, for the pilot light to work.

Works as advertised
This doesn't work with 3-way light switches, but that's on me because I bought the wrong item. I managed to find another place to use it. We can't see our porch light from inside the house so it helps us easily see if the porch light is on or off.

Excellent product.
Excellent product overall, leviton makes quality home products and this switch is in keeping with that. I thought the red led pilot light would be brighter, it not so bright that its obvious on in broad daylight. Otherwise excellent product.

Lights when on or all the time
This switch can be wired to have the light on all the time or just when the switch is on. I chose to wire it to indicate when the switch is on and it works perfectly for that purpose.
