Very good, but the product came damaged, (broken)

The cookies themselves are excellent. My mother buys them at the grocery store so I thought a savings of .61 a package over regular retail was a no brainer. Not so. To date every package has contained between 50% and 80% shattered cookies. The cookies were shipped w/o packaging material of any kind but this doesn't really seem to be the cause of most of the damage. The cookies come in a little bag of 2 stacked trays each containing 4 cookies. In each case the bottom tray of cookies is completely shattered. The top tray varies from just the lower cookies broken and the uppers chipped to the uppers OK. The cookies are shipped with the bags on their sides in 2 layers in the box. There is no way to damage the lower trays alone as they are sandwiched in between the undamaged uppers. My mother is convinced that Pepperidge Farm employees scraped up broken cookies and shipped them off so that irate customers can't stomp in and shake their damaged goods under store clerk's noses. She tends to take things personally. I think they were damaged while being transported some time after they were packaged but apparently not while being shipped to me. The long and the short: it looks like crispy cookies are not the best candidates for online purchase.

THE COOKIES WERE DELICIOUS. THEY ARRIVED BROKEN & CRUMBLED. I SAW THE UPS GUY THROW THEM ON MY PORCH. THE BOX WAS CLEARLY LABELED FRAGILE COOKIES INSIDE. AS USUAL UPS DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THAT.

Cookies were crumbly, broken in pieces and disintegrating. Flavor was sub-par. Very disappointed.

Great tasting product, but packaging has been much improved in the last several shipments - No broken cookies!
