you need hand strength
You do need hand strength to push the tube into the bladder but when it snaps in you can hear it in another room. Screwing on the cap to the bladder requires patience and strength at least for me . My husband had no issue. What I love is the detail of how easy the bite is without leakage as other devices would dribble and I felt compelled to bite and lift the tube back to make sure water wasn't left in the tube. The push and pull to lock the bite is so much nicer as the other thumb turn required 2 hands for me to turn. Cover cap over the bite is so nice when throwing the pack in my car I don't have to worry where the bite has landed as I've had the bite land on the tip of my hiking stick before...yuck! I have bought neoprene insulator sleeves in the past, they get dirty, slide up down the tube, and the ends wear and threads unravel. They added a rubber seal on both ends and the one closest to the bite is where the wear and tear occurs and now my fingers are on the rubber part only.

The trouble with closing the wide opening
I wanted this to work, I really did. But, alas, it failed in one of its key functions. And it appeared to be a design flaw, not an individual product issue. It's the wide refill opening.First, the good stuff: The bladder itself: great, sturdy, reliable. The tubing — worked exactly as it should. The bite valve — exactly what it's supposed to do. The price: very competitive. But that big opening…The problem seems to be with the screw threads on the cap and the opening they are supposed to screw into. They are extremely shallow, and I never was once able to get it to align correctly.Considering the circumstances under which a person might need to fill or refill the bladder, this HAS to be easy, not a major chore. In my case, I was on a 38 mile hike-run in the desert I tried to use this in the field, some of which took place at night. Neither time I refilled it could I get the screws to fit into the opening successfully. I had no choice but to only fill it about two thirds of the way so that it wouldn't spill. Even then, my back was getting soaked. Fortunately I was in the desert and in the heat, so having my back wet wasn't a dangerous thing. But I do a lot of hiking and trail running in the snow as well. So I couldn't rely on this product, and won't.

Would not recommend
Works, but bulky and leaky. Leaked the first time I filled it. Too many parts and pieces to break. Sometimes when you pull the dust cap off the whole apparatus comes off and starts squirting water out. The dist cap is too big to fit through the tube loops on my pack. I pretty much hate it, but I guess you pay for what you get. Gave it 2 stars because I like the idea of a detachable hose, but I'm sure something will go wrong with it eventually.Follow-up: The company is continually harassing me via email requesting I change my review. Here is my change. Leave me alone!

Has a major problem!
Love this bladder BUT I quickly realized that I had an issue! First the great aspects are easy to fill...easy to empty and clean/dry, has a lip to support hanging it upright in my backpack, insulated and easy to use drinking tube (do look at instructions to use as there is a open/close aspect on the tube). I quickly realized why I couldn't use it....I can't open it to empty the bladder after hiking!!!! If you don't tighten it to the max it leaks..but if you do it takes a gorilla to open it! Wish they would re-design that problem but for now it doesn't work for me.

Replacement bottle
I only used it once but it appears that it will last quite awhile. Much cheaper than the Camel Back bag I replaced.

Protective cap doesn't stay on - other than that, it's perfect
I have a Camelbak that I've owned for close to ten years but the gaskets finally gave up the ghost and it was leaking. I tried finding just the gaskets but no one sells them. This seems strange but I guess Camelbak would rather you just buy a whole new backpack.Anyway, I also thought it would be nice to have more water available for longer hikes and my original bladder was 70-ounces. Since this is 100-ounces it fits the bill but it barely fits inside my Camelbak. It works, but it's not perfect.I like the large, easy-to-grip lid on this and the semi-insulated tube but the mouthpiece cover is garbage. It worked for about the first day. It's just a thin piece of plastic so it doesn't keep its shape which means it won't fit perfectly onto the mouthpiece. Other than that, it's a great value for the money.

Difficult to Use
First off, the dust cap wouldn't stay closed and was too big to thread through my tube loops. Had to cut it off to make it fit :/ Second, it leaks. There is something wrong with the seal. The instruction manual said to have patience while screwing it on and now after only 2 months of using it once a week I see why. If you don't get the seal on just right, it leaks. This sometimes takes me over 20 minutes and has caused 2 major leaks even after testing it. Not great when I'm at my hiking spot and have to deal with water everywhere. I missed the return date and now I'm stuck with a defective product. Not a happy hiker.
