Great Sprayer
Great sprayer. I have three of these, each dedicated to a specific purpose. The weight of 1 gal is just right to avoid problems for my bad back. I've found this model lasts for many years if kept reasonably clean so the screw-in top seals well and the spray tip doesn't get gunked up. Wish this had a pressure relief valve, but an easy workaround is to keep an old washcloth near where the sprayer is stored and put the cloth on top when unscrewing to block any mist that escapes when the pressure is released. Whenever I buy one of these sprayers I take a red marker and trace over the raised 1 gal line so it's easy to find when filling. Then near the top of the tank I mark the initials of the sprayer's dedicated use e.g., IS for insecticidal soap, WF for wet and forget.

Superior to any spray bottle
The review is with the product and not any weed killer. But the item was confusing for me to begin with but then I watched a youtube video and went - probably like a lot of other people - OH, THAT'S WHAT YOU DO!The issue is to lock the handle down but then release the handle section so you can pump up and down until you feel the pressure filling up. Then lock the handle down again, twisting the handle back into the locked position on its base.A lot of us unfamiliar with this type of product get confused that we lock down the handle but then nothing comes out of the sprayer. This is where the building up of the pressure comes in. Then you can get to work spraying your product. After you're done you need to release the handle portion again - not uncapping the lid - and stand back so you can release the remaining pressure. you don't want to face any kind of explosion. Now I know how to work it, this is very easy. The long length of the handle is okay for my height. If you know weeds, you know you have to get down close to the roots and this allows a standard height adult to do so - without breaking your back. It's very easy process compared to bending over and using a spray bottle. What I don't know is if weed killer is ruined if it stays in this container or if it remains viable. Is that about the weed killer or the container?

Terrible spray handle design. See fix
This otherwise decent sprayer has a terrible handle design. The whole thing is plastic which is okay for parts of it but not the handle. After a couple of uses my handle lever popped off and I saw that two small plastic nubs were all that held the lever on the handle; and there is a good bit of stress there when you squeeze the handle. I was able to salvage the sprayer by making another simple lever from steel flat bar, but am not happy that I had to do that. See pictures of the lever you will ultimately need to make like I did if you use that sprayer a few times:

Strong spray, easy to use
I was nervous about buying a hand-pump / hand-carry sprayer. Thought it might be too heavy/unwieldy and not produce a decent/controllable spray.I was wrong. The assembly instructions look a bit complex but assembly is actually not hard at all.The sprayer with a gallon of rust remover in it is not very heavy.Just a few pumps of the hand-pump create a strong spray that is easy to control for accuracy with the long nozzle.Clean-up is not bad -- I used up all my product so I just rinsed it through a couple times per instructions and it's ready for next time. Note: you are not supposed to store the product in it, so if in doubt, put less in and add more as needed.

It sprays, it sprays, it sprays
It doesn't chop, doesn't slice, but it sprays. I read reviews on models in this range and got what I expected. Next steps up would include a pressure relief valve, some higher quality (read: longer lasting) parts, but also higher price. Most of the higher priced stuff also had any similar complaints as to longevity though, so going on the cheaper end makes sense. Treat it kindly, get even 4-5 years out of it as a homeowner, and you've spent around $5 per year. The spray nozzle adjusts from a wide mist to a splatter to a fine jet with good range. Haven't had any problems with clogging or such. Rinse it out good after using, don't let it get bashed around under a million things, and it should last for a while.(Used it for applying things like neem oil - also have a separate hose mixer for products where that is better.)

20010 is Good for some uses, nozzle not great. 12-16-2010
I needed a simple gallon sprayer to treat our home for pests. The squeeze pump on the store-bought gallon chemical container was not consistent and a whole house takes a lot of pumps of varying efficiency. Found this Sure-Spray rated by a few users who were satisfied with the mist setting that I desired for floors and thought I'd try it. Well, I don't think the spray nozzle being plastic can ever be set to achieve a mist. The nozzle adjusts easily for a stream for plants and I can get a reasonably well controlled cone shaped spray with the droplets scattered and varying in size. Call it a fine splatter.Anyway, the rest of the sprayer is satisfactory at the price point. So I went to the factory site and have ordered brass sprayer nozzles in a cone (6-6002) and fan (3-6004) pattern for about 7.50 ea. plus shipping. Another Amazon buyer tried the Model 27020 and complained about the brass fan nozzle. Go figure, maybe I bought the wrong model. I think the two new nozzles will get me the performance I wanted and I'll edit this to confirm once they arrive next week. (maybe).(Edit 12-27-2012)And maybe it is. The brass fan spray nozzle includes a plastic component which deforms and doesn't support use as a fine mister. When tightening the brass head, the fixed plastic circulator deforms resulting in a stream instead of a spray. Its perhaps worse than the all-plastic nozzle it replaced. The all brass cone spray nozzle did not improve misting performance at all, either. So I took another star off.

Winter bike washing device
Okay--I know 95% could not care less, but... I needed a sprayer to get the salt and sometimes mud off of my bikes, when the garden hose is frozen. I fill this baby up in the sink, take it outside and give the bike a good rinse off. The spray is not very powerful, but it's just strong enough to get the crud off after a ride in the salt, snow, mud, or muck. Very happy I got this .

Best available but should address these issues
The size of 2 gallons plus space for air is useful as very little pumping is required regardless of whether you are spraying a lot or a little. The markings on the side of the plastic should be darker and/or more raised as are difficult to make out (indications of volume). The sprayer is the best available. My previous one had a small shield which this one lacked and I wish the company would reintroduce it. My previous came with a plastic end plus a metal one, this one only had a plastic tip. More instructions should be included.

The only thing is this gets pretty heavy so luckily there are some holes for straps
I got this as I got tired of mixing Killex in 1L batches. This sucker can hold enough for my front and back yard. The only thing is this gets pretty heavy so luckily there are some holes for straps. I used some old key rings I had kicking around and a laptop bag strap and it works awesome!Spray is strong and the handle makes it so I don't have to crouch down. If anyone is on the fence of getting this then I would say get it if you have grass. If you don't have grass yet I would say get artificial turf so you don't have to worry about weeds.

Worth The money, dont buy the cheap stuff
I am very happy with this product, the quality is amazing. No other sprayer compares to this. Holding a whopping 11 liters of water i am able to fertilize or water plants with out refilling often. Very sturdy, thick plastic, Markings on sides for measurements and made in The USA! i give props to Chapin for making a superior product. Nothing else can even compete. I have even bought a 2nd one but smaller size for pesticides. I have all so used it for spraying foliage on plants. Thanks Amazon and Chapin/seller and Delivery person.

Great quality sprayer. Easy to pump!
Works very good!, I like that it comes with a pre-filter to help it from getting clogged and the 45* nozzle end and it doesn’t take much effort to pump the air into it!.., it’s easier than a bicycle pump! Also the measuring cup comes in handy too.
