WoodRiver Drill Bit Stop Collars 7-Piece Set

Unfortunately it is difficult to install, the screw finds it difficult to enter especially, the large sizes 1/4 and above do not fit with the metal and concrete drill bit size!! I noticed that their size is more suitable in wood bit .

I've had them all...plastic ones you twist on...metal with a set screw that bites into the bit, etc. You name it, I've tried it. I make furniture and being able to accurate repeat drilling depth to set dowels in place is a must. The plastic ones move when they come into contact with the wood; the set screws don't bite in enough to hold, and the screw works loose.These collars don't have either problem. The split collar design grips all around the bit, and the screw/threads have enough strength to clamp tightly onto the bit. They haven't worked loose yet, and hold depth amazingly well.The only complaint is on the smallest collar, it's not a split collar, but the set-screw type. I doubt I will use that small of a bit with a collar, but if I do I can only hope it won't come loose.Buy them without worry, they will hold tightly in place.

I absolutely love these collars. These collars stay where I put them they do not move. Definitely worth the money. The biggest advantage is the securing method. Unlike the collars that screw against the drill bit, these clamp on the drill but - much more effective!

I had been using plastic stop collars, and they often slipped, sometimes ruining the work. These collars have a set screw which is much more positive in determining the depth limit. I do wish there was a really small one, since I use stop collars even when drilling for cabinet hinges or latches. But otherwise, thumbs up.
