Roy knows
I called Music Hall and much to my surprise Mr. Roy Hall answered the phone. Wow. I asked him several questions about the MMF 9.3, one of which was, "what could I do to squeeze a bit more out of the table" Mr. Hall, without hesitation said, "buy the Aztec Blue mat" I figured heck the guy designed the table, he should know. Well come to find out Roy does know, I purchased the mat and WOW! Honestly, I can't put my finger on what it does but it makes an already great table sound incredible. I'm not gonna use all the slick audiofile phrases to describe what it does. It just works. Is it pricey, heck yes but compared to all the other stuff you buy to beef up your system it is a bargain. Bottom line: I recommend this product especially if you have a Music Hall table. And remember, Roy knows!Stay well, stage safe...stay home and listen to tunes.

Good News/Bad News
Good News: This will isolate your vinyl from the platter, if that is your goal. That is part of the Rega mantra and I bought this for my Rega P6.Bad News: It is a static nightmare, as at least two of the three cork layers will adhere to the record and could then drop off onto the revolving platter and ride right into your cartridge. Beware! I use Zerostat gun which is over twenty years old and still works fine, and must do that with almost every record. If you have static, get a Zerostat. Other than that this product is exactly what it appears to be at a high price - three very thin pieces of cork that will lift your record off of the platter. I am instead going with the Delrin platter from GrooveTracer. Which, btw, is not crazy expensive, but stupid expensive. I keep telling my wife this hoppy is cheaper that a fishing boat, but I'm not sure she believes me any more.

Marvelous improvement
I have spent 40 years as an audiophile. Currently I am using Magnepans, Jolida, Pro-Ject, Emotiva and a Rega R6. I was curious about this mat as I was looking to upgrade from the standard record mat provided by Rega. I just spent three hours auditioning this beautiful mat, and switching it out with the standard mat and other mats I have. Without question this mat was a definite sonic improvement. The Rega R6---using an Exact 2 cartridge---sprang to life. The secret of this mat is that it conforms to the Rega turntable philosophy, that the LP should be as much as possible isolated from the platter and one should not use a record clamp . (Other audiophile turntables have adopted the opposite philosophy.) This mat seems to float above the platter, maximizing isolation while allowing the R6 to show its abilities toward an increased imaging and sound staging. My vinyl collection---1000 LPs and counting---has taken on a new life. Highly recommended.

So worth it!
I got this for my old Numark to improve sound best I could and replace an old felt mat, but later invested in a Pro-Ject Classic SB Superpack. The Classic is worlds apart from the Numark, and came with a high quality leather mat. I put the Aztec Blue on and the difference was astonishing. Far better soundstage and separation, the leather mat seemed muted and dull in comparison, I can’t imagine going back. Highly recommend the Aztec over any other mat available. It’s worth every penny if you’re looking to get the most from your turntable.

While effective, Far Too Expensive
It's a good cork mat. But it's unconscionable that three thin layers of common cork, cut geometrically, cost nearly 100 dollars. It just boggles the mind. There's nothing here that can't be had with the smallest amount of DIY effort.

Clinging to the record is the whole point!
If the cork clings to the record that means dust will too! This mat is meant to test static charge on a record surface. Before playing a record I put the little cork circle (the one meant to hold a label) to see if it will attach. If it clings to the record, then it's time to zerostat. This ensures that the record will be static-free. Of course you can use a little styrofoam ball too to perform the same test. The cork mat helps prevent the record becoming charged again but it will not eliminate static. Only the zerostat gun does that
