Catholic Saints for Children

This is a wonderful book! I bought it for my son for his First Communion. I wanted a book about saints that was written for a child and this one is perfect. The language is easy to understand and there are pictures of every saint, which both my son and I enjoy. So for each saint, there is a little biography, a few lines about how you can pray to this saint, a picture, and then on the next page a prayer that relates to the saint. My son and I have been doing one saint a night. It's a special time for us before bedtime. We are able to discuss the saint and say the prayer together. As an adult, I find this book very interesting as well. I'm learning more about the saints and I'm also really enjoying the prayers. So far, all the prayers embody virtues or characteristics that you can pray for and I really like this. They are prayers that are good for all ages. I could not have picked a better book about the saints for my child.

My daughter is going through confirmation and needs to pick a saint to write a report about it. This was a great option for her to read through and pick a saint.

My 9 year old son received this in his Easter basket last year, and he has truly loved it. It is short and simple, but full of age-appropriate information and beautiful prayers. It introduced my son to some saints that he had never known of before. It lends itself well to bedtime reading--we read one saint each night and then pray the accompanying prayer together. It's a book you can come back to over and over again.
