With such easy and obvious damage to the knife block, I have to wonder if this product would stand up against daily usage, I cannot see that it would sit on your kitchen side for longer than a week without showing keen signs of wear. If Richardson have put such little effort into the knife block, I have to express concern to the quality of the knife also.This was the 2nd item of the same type received, with the same type of damage to the knife block. Clear usage from another customer. Where on earth do Amazon get off on supplying items that have had clear usage?

Was really looking forward to receiving this, looked fantastic on the website. What turned up had a chip right on the front of the block, really noticeable as it’s supposed to be a lovely smooth white surface. It wasn’t damaged in transit, the box is spotless.Asked for a replacement, that has an even bigger chip on it! Very disappointed, this will be 2/2 returned, not going to try again because quality control is clearly poor

This knife block is really nice and looks great. Good that the handles are slightly different tones of grey which is perfect for the aesthetic I was looking for.They are perhaps the sharpest knives I have ever purchased which is fantastic but also takes a little bit of getting used to.They are clearly fantastic quality which is exactly what you would expect from such a good brand.

Price paid - £32, including 20% Amazon Warehouse discount.Colour - White painted block with 5 knives.Reviewed after 3 weeks.Excellent knives... dishwasher safe, very good weight/action, and very sharp. Maybe not the longest of blades.The block looks great but although mine hasn't any chips or damage, I can imagine this happening over time due to the painted finish. Care is needed when placing the knives in.As the knives are so good, I'm not concerned about this and consider the block a freebie given the price... £32 for a set of knives like this is a bargain!I'm very happy with my purchase and can see these knives lasting many years.

I am not sure why there are any bad reviews for this knife set. They are lovely quality, good weight, nice strong forged ergonomic handles and the block looks great. The knives are not sharpened to the maximum when they arrive but once sharpened they are excellent. Nobody should put proper knives in the dishwasher so please wash by hand.
