Looks yummy..it is yummy!
Can't wait to try this scone mix out. Just got it. Looks yummy! I got my scone pan today too and looking forward to some tasty scones. I got this mix cos I can put other fruit or nuts, chocolate chips in it, etc. for variation. I hope it tastes good. Arrived on time and as described packaging. It's not a small box either. It's not huge, but it will work just fine. I can get quite a few scones out of this box. I'll update this when I use it. Update: 28 October 2017- I just used this mix today. It came out nice. Wasn’t too hard to make at all. The only thing is that it said 8 scones and I was able to get 12 nice scones from this in my pan. So I was very happy with it. Since this is a basic scone mix, I added some sugar to it and I added maple syrup and pecans in one batch and blueberries in the other batch of this. I divided the recipe into 2 bowls. Came out lovely! I even added extra butter and it was still good. Just as I hoped. Highly recommend!

Scones - flavorful & yummy when warm
Excellent product & others enjoyed the flavor w/out being dry. Best when I served them warm.

Closest to the Real Thing
This scone mix is the closest I’ve seen and tasted to a true English scone. It is very much like an old-fashioned biscuit, low in sugar and versatile in that you can add nuts, cranberries etc. before baking. Served warm is the best!

Very authentic!
This mix was very authentic tasting, and I would know I lived in Ireland for five years with an old woman who constantly baked bread lol Very simple instructions and straightforward. Easy to use even if you mess up the recipe a little bit it has some leeway. All in all a very good attempt for the price. If you can’t get to Ireland, this is the second best thing.

Too sweet
These scones bake up nicely and they are easy to mix and make. My biggest issue is that they are too sweet. I like to eat my scones with clotted cream and jam and these were too sweet to that with. I just ended up having to put only clotted cream. If I'm not making scones from scratch, I prefer the Garvey's mix. It's more authentic and and has no added sugar. If you like sweet scones, you'll enjoy these. They are more American style.

Tasty treat of delicious scones. Not cheap, but fairly convenient. Would buy again.
The recipe calls for 1 & 1/2 sticks (170 grams) of unsalted butter and 3/4 cup of cold water and requires a small amount of technique (using hands or food processor) to incorporate the butter to a wet sand like consistency prior to adding the water. The butter mixing step, and minimal stirring (quick breads have no yeast so forget about kneading dough) of the wet and dry ingredients afterwards helped to ensure a light crumbling texture. The mix yielded eight well sized scones as the recipe outlined. I made one minor alteration and used whole milk instead of water. Lots of recipes and videos suggest a light brushing of eggwash to enhance browning on the top of the scones. It's purely aesthetic, but I will likely eggwash the tops next time since the bottom would burn if one wanted a fully golden top. The scones had an excellent flavor and paired well with Devon cream and black currant preserve (lemon and lime curd were excellent as well). One lucky guinea pig found them to be superior to those offered by a well regarded tea room. Of course, I can't take all of the credit for the results. Many thanks to Stonewall Kitchen!

Makes for a delicious English "Cream Tea" experience
I'm not English nor am I a scone expert but found these to be absolutely delicious....not too dense, fluffy, flavorful and easy to make. Even those who, like me, are unschooled in baking will find success. They were a big hit with a small group of friends whom I had invited over for a traditional English "Cream Tea" - scones served piping hot with clotted cream and a choice of lemon curd, strawberry and black current preserves.... and of course a good quality English tea. It was such an enjoyable experience that I'll continue this practice of afternoon teas (perhaps even add finger sandwiches or crumpets to the menu!) for special occasions. I've already ordered more. Oh....and SUPER FAST delivery!

PERFECT ENGLISH SCONES!
Since returning from holiday in England I've been craving scones. I've tried many different mixes but they all left me thinking, "I should just make them from scratch." Until I tried Stonewall. These scones are biscuit-like and very buttery with just the right amount of sweetness, as opposed to the cakey, muffin-like impostors found in the bakery section of most grocery stores. Keep in mind this isn't a just-add-water mix. You have to cut the butter in like you would if making them from scratch, so it does require a little time and technique. But the results are WORTH IT! I wanted raisin scones so I added raisins to the dry mix before cutting in the butter. Next time I will wait until after the butter is mixed in, before adding the cold water. I topped my scones with double Devon cream and fresh strawberries. YUMMM!
