Strobel Organic Waterbed Mattress Hydro-Support 1600 King

After purchase, have used this mattress before reviewing. We bought this as a replacement for another Strobel mattress that developed a leak after many many years. I received the mattress, it was not the color advertised so I contacted Amazon and was told I was sent the wrong one so Amazon sent another. Received the replacement and it was the same so I called the manufacturer and found out the color and some features had changed from the Amazon listing. With these changes, I wasn't sure how it would hold up. The Amazon picture shows a blue mattress, they are now a see through purple -blue color. Previously this model had reinforced corners which are no longer on their mattresses based on what I found out from the manufacturer. This made me really nervous although the reinforced corner is where our old mattress developed the leak it had after 20 years so maybe the change was an improvement. Overall we are happy with our purchase. The mattress is a little bigger than the stated size. There are currently inverted dimples on the top that are not filled with water which makes the mattress look like it needs more water but to fill it to that level would put the mattress several inches above the bed sides (this would be bad if a leak developed because the liner wouldn't hold all the water). With a mattress cover, you don't feel these. We use water conditioner in the mattress and haven't had any air bubble issues. Very comfortable mattress. As for the Amazon listing, this currently has not been updated for the design changes.Just as a side note, the replacement mattress we were sent arrived in a box that looked like it had been dropped out of the plane as it flew over the runway instead of landing the plane and carrying the box off the plane- it was busted open where you could see the contents and had been taped with clear tape in an attempt to close it up. I could literally put my hand into a hole in the box before removing any tape - the UPS driver sat it on the front stoop, rang the doorbell, and ran back to the truck-box was way too big and zero packing material. I'm not sure who was responsible but the box was way too big and didn't have any packing material which made the contents roll around in the box. Waterbed mattresses are heavy before putting any water in them so that's a lot of weight being thrown around inside the box during shipping.Overall, happy with the mattress, not so much with the packaging/shipping.

Actually would give the mattress 5 stars. Very comfortable and well made and very waveless. 2 weeks for amazon to get it to me when I'm a prime member was a bit ridiculous tho

Sleeps like a dream. We are retired and honestly never though of buying a new waterbed I got over those in the ‘70s but because of back pain we thought we’d try it again. We have been through a couple high end tradional mattresse and even a memory foam mattress but nothing helped till this

Our old mattress was very uncomfortable, stretched out & leaking. This Strobel waterbed mattress holds it's shape and stays flat on top. The Strobel has small "waves" in the top layer that make it feel like you are sleeping on a pillow top style mattress. If you are replacing one of those old '90's style brown bags of water go with the this one.

So far so good. Very low wave in our opinion. Decent quality especially for the price
