Pro Art Oil Pastel, 12 Color Jumbo Set, Assorted

Terrible! I ran out of white in my usual set of oil pastels so I decided to by a box of multiple whites. First off, They have been expired for a year. Yes, oil pastels have expiration dates. These came from the fulfillment center, who knows how long they had been there. This has happened before when I bought cosmetics from Amazon; they were expired and dried out. Amazon needs to keep an eye out for the expiration on products other than food. Next, they are smaller than an average pastel stick. Normally pastels are 70mm x 12mm, but these are 57mm x 9 mm, and these are the more expensive ones. Next, they have little pigment. They are semi transparent when used on black paper or over another pigment. Last, they do not adhere to the surface. The medium rolls or balls up and flake off. These are so bad, they’re practically unusable. I’m going to return them and try the less expensive ones.

I got these pastels as extra whites for my drawing 2 class and they work really well! Being an art major in college, I'm always looking for ways to save a pretty penny here and there and I was nervous about the quality, but they're great. Highly recommend them!

These are pretty nice pastels! After a lot of buildup and layers, they can start to get mucky but that's with a lot of other brands as well...there's only so much the pastels can take. But the colors are really nice and pigmented. I do wish that the packaging of them was a big more closed up instead of that rectangular opening close to the bottom. Once your pastels get small from usage it's easy for them to slip through that hole, and then pastels are everywhere in your bag. I had to start putting the whole thing in small plastic bag and then in my art bag to catch all the fallen pastels.

Disappointed in this set. Pastels are hard, and do not easily blend with each other. Tried to save some money for my classroom. Will spend more next time.

These work really well and go on easily. My kindergarten students used them with no problems.

Ok . Fine for younger students.

Received an anticipated oil pastel white set. The photo online is deceptive, These are some of the smallest oil pastels I've seen. Not a regular size. The ad should show the actual size. This so-called PRO set is deceptive, the pigmentation is weak, as its opacity is half of what real pro sets have, it doesn't pass the mastone test. The oil content is suspect, it has a hard application and lacks blend-ability with better pro-artist grade oil pastels. That is my professional opinion. Master Artist and painting with oil pastels since 1972. It's good for filler.
