One word. Fabulous.
I never thought music could sound like this. Every song that I ever heard sounds so different through these earphones. I did not know about IEMs earlier and had no clue what these could offer. Stumbled upon these just by chance. The audiophile reviews are absolutely on the money. I own a pair of bose wireless earphones and the iphone stock ones too. But these have become the default now. A music impaired friend of mine has also become a fan. An absolute buy if you like music.

For the price , the earphones are simple outstanding , zero second thought about it being completely value for money . The sound is crisp , clear , with a slightly more bass thump which actually makes it super comfortable. I'm loving it !

Suprisingily pretty great.
Final thoughts:Typically I've always been someone who enjoys over ear headphones, but decided to take the plunge on these in ears because of the positive reviews all over the internet and because my apple earbuds hurt my ears after 20 minutes of use. Great for less than $20. Like you can't go wrong if the only thing you've used before are apple earbuds like me. The value is amazing and I wouldn't even hesitate to buy these for $50. Definitely recommended by me.Physical overview:Build quality on the actual earbuds is great, like something you'd find on $50+ in-ears, however they're really bulky. That being said though I don't have any issues keeping them in my ears for the most part. Cable isn't anything special, it's a little thinner than the cable on apple earbuds and the texture feels similar, but it seems a little more resilient overall. Wouldn't call it tangle proof; it's a decent cable but there are definitely better solutions out there. Not a huge fan of the right angle connector, but your mileage may vary. I like how the outer rubber is clear and you can see the inside of the cables. The mic is made from light plastic and seems a little out of place compared to how well built everything else is. Overall they are very well built considering the price.Sound overview:I have no idea how these are less than $20 with the sound you get; it's insane! My main headphones are the V-Moda LP2 with the XL pads, I also own a pair of V-Moda LP1 and a pair of Shure SRH440s. The ATEs come in within spitting range of the LP1 and the LP2 when it comes to the actual sound. Bass is very similar to the LP1: really strong low frequencies, but it doesn't pack as much of a punch as the LP2 in kick drums, which is fine considering I paid less than a tenth of what I paid for the LP2. Highs aren't as great as the lows, but they're definitely more pronounced than the mids, overall they're again very similar to the LP1, maybe a little bit brighter. Mids are the only low point for me with these in-ears. You lose a ton of the texture if you have a lot of stuff happening in the lower frequencies and stuff with a lot of vocals can sound a little "naisily" compared to the 440s and the LP2. Soundstage is the only thing I feel is sub-par here; It's not terrible, but it's worse than even the apple earbuds, though not by much. Considering how well these do compared to my $100-150 full-sized headphones, these are definitely a great value at just $14.How they fare in music:These are great for hip hop and electronic music. Tracks from Daft Punk and Justice sound nothing short of amazing. Trap ballads sound grand and almost orchestral with a deep bass responce- artists like Young Thug and Future sound like I'm listening to them for the first time. More classical rap such as Wu Tang and Biggie sound pretty good, though I feel are missing some of the oomph in the beat. Newer rap like Kanye's MBDTF sound great as long as the song doesn't get too complicated, something I feel these struggle with in Drake's Nothing was the Same album. Older genres tend to fall off a bit however. Depending on the artist, rock music can sound almost somewhat shrill, like in the case of AC/DC, though bands like Van Halen and Aerosmith really seem to shine with these in ears because of the deeper vocals. Though I'm not a huge jazz guy, the closest thing I have to jazz is Kendrick Lamar's last album in which I think "For Free?" sounds phenomenal though a little muddy as drums blast in the first 50 seconds, though tracks like "u" become a little muddy as the song picks up more vocals and instruments in the beginning. Indie music and modern rock are the two genres that I feel like these universally suffer in. Mac Demarco's Salad Days seem to almost always have guitars that leek into the low frequencies which leave songs rumbling when there are very few low frequencies at play. Similar things can be said about bands like The Strokes and MGMT.

Psst...Hey kid, want your mind blown for $11 bucks?
I've reviewed a few earbuds on Amazon. I've got a drawer full of the damned things, from dollar store specials, sets included with various electronics all the way up to some high dollar brands. But I find myself fascinated with the current wave of extremely good buds, inexpensive items coming out of China right now. It's a new world we are living in, sound quality that would have cost $100+ dollars in years past is now available for lunch money. Amazing. And being something of an audiophile, definitely a music geek and (unfortunately) relatively poor this has been a godsend.I spend hours at a time using earbuds due to personal preference and thin walls in my apartment. I decided to give these a shot in spite of being perfectly satisfied with the set of Apie K1S that I purchased back in September. And they are good but I find my ears get tired of them rapidly for whatever reason. They sound good but they don't sound quite good...enough. But these...I've been sitting here for the past two hours putting the KZ ATE through their paces and I could not POSSIBLY be more impressed. My test playlist consists of:"Blue Rondo Ala Turk" by Brubeck"Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO"I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" by Prince"I Am The Walrus (Dr. Ebbets version) by The BeatlesBeethoven's 9th - Jessye Norman soloist - Chicago Symphony with Georg Solti Conducting"Musique Non Stop" by KraftwerkThe stage is wide, the presence is full and generous. The general problem with earbuds is either an overall thinness of the sound or FAR too much bass. These seem to be perfectly balanced. I've used my Samsung S6, my aging but fantastic sounding Sony receiver and the output from my TV and all sound fantastic. I can see where these would benefit from some additional amplification in the form of a headphone amp for anyone who wants the volume truly loud but they are fine as they are for me.Since these are made to go over the ears getting the correct fit may require a bit of fiddling but they are very comfortable for me. I'm looking forward to trying some other earpieces to see what difference or further improvement I can find. KZ thoughtfully includes, inline on the cord, small weights. They do not make the phones heavier (they are incredibly light overall) but they will help keep the buds in place and tight in the ear canal. The build quality seems to be great. The wiring connection points seem to be well protected, giving where needed. The braided, rubberized cord seems to be a bone of contention, with some users loving it and some hating it. I, personally, like this style and have had good luck with it in the past. The plug is angled, which I like, but has enough clearance that it fits nicely into my phone with my Otterbox Defender case in place. It should work fine with deeper cases. One note: The user guide (written in mid level Engrish) suggest a five minute burn in time. I would suggest, for safety, at least 1/2 hour or more if possible.I simply couldn't be more pleased with these. I would have liked to see (and would be willing to pay a bit more for) a case but that's a small issue considering the overall quality of these. ELEVEN BUCKS? GTFO! Order a set of these before you spend $100+ on (God Forbid!) Beats or other high dollar brands. I think these are superior to the majority of them and hey, if you don't agree you are out a pittance!

Really good, bordering on great
First and foremost, I paid full price for these. Sound quality is not just "good for the price" but is simply remarkably good. I am admittedly so far only listening to them with my phone (Google Pixel) and laptop (older Dell) so I'm not sure yet if with a proper headphone amp these will smooth out even more or not. That said, they are very acceptable as they are.I did notice a couple things. One, when I first started to listen to these, they were quite harsh. As in broken glass in the treble harsh. That rapidly cleared up and is even mentioned in the "manual." Second off, in my ears they are very sensitive to position. Seat them in too solidly and you can't hear anything. Too loose and you loose the bass response. Now, I say this knowing full well that everybody's ear physiology and hearing is different. So far, what I don't do is use these headphones for is working out since I don't care for wires when I'm slinging weights. Additionally, I can't compare these with more expensive IEM (In Ear Monitors) like the Etyomtic ER4's since I can't justify that expense on a pair of glorified ear buds.TL;DR: If you want a really good, bordering on great set of ear buds, buy these.
