Good for light warming....comfy and thin
I bought the gray...I have a size 7 1/4" head and it fits fine, does not slip and barely covers earlobes. I think this is a good product (for what it is).I purchased this to use for sleeping on camping safari in Southern Africa, and to use as a warmish layer for my head around camp or under my safari hat...the nights will be from 30-60F It will work wellI think. However, I have testedit in this Montana winter on several walks. For me, this hat is good for sunny/no wind conditions temps of about 35/40F-60F. If cloudy or breezy, I suggest 45F-65F. If you were doing strenuous exercise it may be ok at slightly lower temperatures. But for walking or standing around, this is a light layer to add a little warmth. If you are in sub-freezing temps, this is not adequate at all, but may provide a layer under a helmet or other hoodie/hat.

Warm, lightweight, and not-scratchy
I purchased primarily to use as a helmet liner for skiing, and ended up wearing this most of my ski vacation! it was nice and lightweight - easy to put into a pocket when we were indoors. AND it kept me warm!

Better than I could have hoped
This hat is awesome. It is so tiny I can put it in the little pocket of my running vest. It's so thin I can wear it under my bike helmet without adjusting it. My head runs a little hot compared to some people, so ymmv, but it is totally sufficient to keep my head and ears warm during activity down to 25F. It's also perfectly comfortable, no itching or tugging on hairs. If there weren't a pandemic, I would probably get an extra to keep in my jacket pocket just in case.

Thin material only good for certain conditions
This is very thin material so you won't want to wear it in very cold or very windy conditions. It works fine for me on cold runs but some cold air does go straight through the material. Also, it seems a little expensive considering it has about the same amount of material as two wool socks.

Good for warmth, fit well.
Bought this for my husband. Works well for a larger (bald) head. Warm without making your head sweat too much.

Excellent beanie
Exactly what I wanted: light weight, fits under helmet, soft, & warm.

best beanies ever
I hike yearround in these from minus 20 F winter days to spring/fall. The best part is that the wool keeps you warm even when wet and it's so nice and thin that I can have it on for an 8-10 hour winter hike and throw my hood over it when the wind blows. By hike's end, it's usually dry again. I don't oversweat in it and you can change them out if needed or put a warmer hat on top. Another genius idea from Icebreaker.

One flaw
This is a brief report that is just focused on one flaw with this item plus one complaint. The Beanie has a multi-tag that is most securely sewed into the inside of the item and if you don't want to be wearing a tag against your head then you might need to have a profession "seamstress" surgically remove the tag. Otherwise if you attempt to cut it out on your own you might remove essential stitching that is part of the items seam! The complaint: Amazon info did not indicate that the item comes from China. I am stating this as a compliant because I had searched specifically for "USA made" and the Amazon page for this item didn't reveal the origin of manufacturing.

Don’t put it in the dryer. It’s made from wool
I use these under my hard hat. Warm in fall and spring and adsorbs moisture in summer. Adds a soft layer between the scalp and hat too, especially if you’re hair challenged.

Great lightweight hat
I always overheat on my walks even in the bitter cold and usually have to take off any hats after 10 minutes or so. Not with this one, yes it's a little chilly at the start as it is super thin but means I can wear for the whole walk. Very comfortable, covers ear as well as head, size wise is fine, I have a big head and it fits no problems.Great for outdoor activities in the cold. Paid 18 for mine but now shot up to 25.

Super!
Tolle Qualität. Paßt hervorragend. Dünn genug, um unter einem Helm zu tragen. Wärmt auch, wenn naß.

Excellent purchase
For how thin it is, this hat is amazing. I bought it for sleeping and under a fur trapper hat when bison hunting. Great to just keep in your pocket, takes up no space and is very warm.
