Good value, functions as it should

I needed a 10” overall latch length to extend beyond the fence post - this was the only one I found. Sturdy construction. Unfortunately, I had to modify the striker bolt installation for my situation due to a 2x4 gate frame instead of 4x4, but otherwise I believe this would be quite satisfactory and easy to install. (I don’t recall if the seller described the bolt hole locations on the striker bolt.). The only small issue I had was the black paint finish was chipped in a couple places - I applied black enamel paint to match. Hope it lasts.

Latch is fine. Works as expected. But… use lag screws and trash the cheap screws that come w it. They loosen over time

I received the hardware with no instructions, so it meant it was self explanatory or a puzzle. It was the former, straight and simple install. I had some modifications to make to my gate unrelated to the hardware.Still took about 30-45 minutes from start to finish, works great.Appears to be sturdy, time will tell.

I bought this product several days ago to replace the old latch on my back gate. The components themselves are great. They're like 1/8th inch steel and reasonably heavy duty. The mechanism is smooth and the latch strong and secure.But the bolts that came with it? You know, the things that actually attach them to the gate? They're terrible...Some genius apparently didn't realize that the wood-boring tips of these bolts should NOT be the exact same width as the bolts threads. In short, the bolts drill out holes for themselves that are then to wide for the threads to bite into the wood.This meant that the first time I closed the gate, the bolts holding the bar to the gate door simply ripped themselves out...I was able to fix this eventually by grinding down the edges of the bolts tips so that they wouldn't cut as big a hole and the send to have worked, but it was a lot of unnecessary and annoying additional work to do so.This product would have been 5-stars if not for the stupid bolts.If you don't have the ability or tools to modify the mounting hardware that comes with this, I would recommend buying your own instead. But apart from that issue, this product is pretty great.

Works like a fare latch should

I love the price of this sturdy latch,easy to install comes with all hardware.Its design makes it so on the outside its an easy flip up black arm not noticeable too everyone especially if your gate is like ours and blends in with fence. I highly recommend to others and has a locking feature by way of lock through holes provided,great value would buy it again.

I was having a hard time finding decent hardware for our gate that butts up to the house verses a wooden post. The old gate hardware I had (remnants in the pictures) said it was locking and self closing but for the life of me, I couldn't get the gate to lock (and it really shouldn't be that hard) and it wasn't self closing. Having a pool and a five year old, security and ease of use is very important to me. This gate latch is fantastic and I wish I found it before drilling new holes into our brick that has already seen its fair share of gate latches by the looks of it. I expect this will be the last latch. It is heavy duty, easy to operate (and install), and easy to lock.

striker bar is a little weak.
