CovesideBird House Wooden 4x4 Post Mount

It is well made, and sturdy. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars, is because it does not fit a 4x4 post. You have to sand the post down. If you do not have a sander, you have to get one. You want it loose enough so you can remove the feeder for cleaning, so why do they make it too small to go on the post at all.

This post mount was too tight to fit on a standard 4x4 PT post - especially after painting the post mount inside and out for weather proofing (it comes unfinished). I had to use an electric sander to sand down the post until it fit - about 30 minutes of extra work. It did work well for an odd-shaped bird house. I did not use their pre-drilled holes but easily drilled my own to work with the bird house.

We ordered this post mount to be able to put up a bird house. We had a rather large bird house that we bought from a flea market. We needed a way to attach the bird house to a 4 by 4 post. The post sits about 8-10 feet off the ground. The mount worked beautifully! It came with pre drilled holes to attach the bird house to it. This was a big plus. It also came with 2 pre drilled holes as well as 2 wood screws to be able to attach the mount to the 4 by 4 post. It fit perfectly right over the post!! We would buy from this company again. This was absolutely perfect. Exactly what I was looking for to mount my bird house. And I couldn't find this anywhere else! Great price and mine fit perfectly on my post. No issues as some others have noted. Highly recommend!!

I never, ever write product reviews but this 4x4 post mount is just really slick. Sturdy and very well constructed it fits on my treated post snug... just like it should. This product is designed to mount a birdhouse or feeder but I'm using it to mount a wireless rain gauge and it couldn't be more perfect. The gauge has to be mounted level but that's not an issue with this post mount. Highly recommended for multiple uses!

Too many holes or too few screws?

Fairly rudimentary and not cheap, but certainly very functional. These post mounts need to be treated or painted to be weather-resistant. Most users would do this anyway, but a treated-lumber post would be better for those who do not paint them.
