I bought this kit to replicate the Hueys I rode on while in the Marines. While the scale of the kit is nice(it is large) there was a lot more mold flash to be trimmed off than I expected. In my case, I didn’t make it a gunship but rather a troop assault version like I traveled on in the early 70s. The decals are nice but in the 60s and 70s they were painted olive drab with just the number and branch on the sides. Easily looked up from the internet.

This model has great detail. All the pieces fit together as they should. Moderate difficulty to put together. Several configurations to choose from

Worst revel model I have ever built. Awfull flashing , terrible fit . Non accurate parts . Would not but again .

I’ve built models since childhood, picking the hobby back up again after retirement. WW2 aircraft, armor & ships primarily, with some space & sailing ships thrown in. I have a nicely set up table & lighting for building and an extensive collection of tools, airbrush, paints…I consider myself a well experienced modeler. This kit I decided to build in homage to my oldest brother who served on a gunship in the mid 60’s. I cannot overstate what a challenge it is to build this thing. I’ve built many Revell kits but this is by far the worst…excessive flash, brittle plastic, poor fit, extraction marks, dimples in the parts…you name the problem, it has it. However, the details are outstanding and while I’m still midway on the project, I know my skillset will allow me to salvage a decent build out of it. However, were I a beginner, I’d have binned this thing by now. It’s not a good kit for the inexperienced.

This kit has been circulating for years and has had very little fixes for the heavy flashings everywhere on it which are a shame. But still it is a great and simple build even for a beginner. I used it for a EFL student’s lessons when talking about aircraft engineering and design. The detail of certain parts made the build fun for the student who had never built a model before. It seems that this model is no longer made so I am going to search for another one somewhere for my own private collection. Pros: easy to build, great size and simple enough for beginners. Cons: some parts weren’t injection molded properly, some parts like the front frame of the windshield were incomplete by half a millimeter. Needed to use some ingenuity to fix the issues. The flashing left around the mold were a little too much and made sanding harder than it had to be.

It was a Christmas gift for our grandson and he loved it…a very nice piece!

Good size and body but landing gear and rotor blades not easy to assemble without super glue..

El único problema q encontré es q las pegatinas ya eran viejas entonces eran quebradizas al ponerlas, me imagino q por ser kit antiguo tiene mucho almacenado, aún así si compraría otro en un futuro si sigue estando disponible.
