Dog is not worth it- ladybug is great
This was a replacement dog for one purchased a year prior. The original one didn't change all the colors it was supposed to and was very difficult to turn on/off; which is only pressing a button on top of the dog's head. There is no way my 3 year could ever have pressed it on by itself. It ran through batteries constantly and then just stopped working. The replacement (this purchase) is not any better. It drains through batteries, the button needs significant pressure to turn on/off, and it works inconsistently (doesn't go through all its colors, shuts off after a minute or stays on for 20). It might be just the dog model because we had purchased the ladybug at same time as the original dog and it would receive 5 stars. Everything wrong with dog works perfectly as expected for ladybug; easy to turn on/off (my 6 year old presses with 2 fingers), the batteries last for months, and there are great color changes.

At first it was smaller than I expected. It is as people have said inconsistent with staying on. Especially frustrating since this is the first night light she's responded to and that my husband had been happy with. We'll be buying the IKEA version. Definitely does not stay on for an hour if you have a toddler turning it on its side like I do. If it was more consistent I'd give a better rating.

The kids love it. Must be powered by the most energy inefficient LED because it needs new batteries about once a week. It stays on for 1 hour and then turns itself off. We put it on when our son goes to sleep so it runs about 7 hours per week. It rotates through three colors (green, blue and orange/yellow). If the orange/yellow color is red then you know the batteries are low. It will display red for a couple of seconds and then power off. If you do purchase invest in rechargeable batteries!

Cute, but doesn't work :0(
We got it for my son at Christmas, and got it out this month now that he is in his own room. Used it twice, it stopped working after the second time we turned it on. Changed batteries, but never started working again.

Eh just ok, doesn't always work, first one was a dud
This is our second bright time buddy as the first quit working after 2 months. We bought another because our son loves it. When first putting in the batteries it didn't work right away with this one. We had to finagle it around internally to get it to work. Doesn't seem to be made well.

Awesome auto turn-off night light
My son had one for about 4 years. It stopped working. I was thrilled to find a replacement on Amazon for a reasonable price. He was so happy to have his nightlight again!

The kids love these. My daughter received the unicorn one and she keeps it on her nightstand and turns it on every night at bedtime. Got this one for my nephew and he immediately took it inside his blanket fort to light his fort up. Fun for kids.

Gets too warm...
My son ABSOLUTELY wanted one of these and his sister bought it for him for his birthday. It's fine, does the job and my son loves it. However.. make sure your child does NOT put it in bed with them. This thing gets REALLY warm. My son is 8 so he was fine with us telling him to leave it on his nightstand but those with toddlers should keep an eye on it. I wouldn't recommend it because of that reason.
