Fantastic! I Love It, Great Quality!
Very well documented book on Palisades Amusement Park. It's very similar to the "Images of America historical books" it's filled with images and facts. I ordered both, this one and the Rutgers printed version but I disliked the Rutgers printed version. The pictures are not as clear and it's not as enjoyable as this one. I'm a visual person so I like more pictures than words and this one certainly did that. It illustrated how everything was back then. If you like, "Images of America" as I do, then you'll also enjoy this book.

Fun Book.
This product was a fun read but was in a little worse shape than advertised. Not terrible at all, but I would call this “good” condition. Love the book though and am happy to have it.

A Fantastic Book About A Fantastic Place To Go To That Sadly Is No Longer There
I grew up in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey and I spent alot of time as a child with my family at Palisades Amusement Park. To me Palisades was the greatest amusement park to go to and I am saddened to this day to know that it is no longer in existance. It was such a fun place to go to and a great place to also see some of the greatest rock bands of the 1960's also as well as having great rides to ride on. This book is just wonderful and I give it a 5 star rating. It tells you the entire history of the park from when it opened until it closed. I learned alot of things about the park that I never knew from reading this book. It is a real must read for anyone who used to love going to Palisades Amusement Park for a day of fun. This place and book is a true part of New Jersey's history.Gigi DixonSouth Florida

I Miss Palisades Park
Reading this book brought me back to the 60's and a wonderful time in my life. The book is filled with history but it is, more importantly, chock full of the spirit of Palisades Park.Palisades Park was like Christmas, New Years and a fun Birthday Party all rolled up into one. As a small child I visited the park with my parents where we shared good times like a family should, but as a teenager it became something even more special. I performed there with my rock band a couple of times, and felt like I had really "made it".How can these feelings be expressed in a book? Mr. Gargiulo does it with intelligence and a child-like awe of this place, the first "magical kingdom".The prose is wonderful as so are the amazing pictures. If anyone wants to take a time machine and return to those magical days in Fort Lee, one has only to read this book!

Good retrospective of the park.
This is a good book for those of us who fondly remember Palisades Amusement Park.Plenty of details about the origin and history of the park. There are plenty of photos but unfortunately they don't reproduce well on the paper stock used for this book - this is the reason I only gave it 4 stars.I passed many a summer day in the pool and at the park back in the 1960s and had a great time.Saw the music shows they gave there too.And nothing I ever ate since can compare to the french fries they served there!

Come on over!
Lot's of memories. My mother took us to the salt water pool when we were babes during the summer months in the 60's.We went to the Palisades often up until it closed. Was really sad at that time. The book is good.

fun to read!
Nostalgic and fun to read, especially for someone who lives where the Park once was. Makes one wonder how greed and real estate profits prevailed and destroyed something so amazing. So much for capitalism.
